Listen to the end credits! Haha
Revisado: 10-19-24
This has been the best series to listen to. I read the series first and then tried it on Audible and wow, I wish I would have listened sooner. The end credits were the funniest end credits with Donut singing. Each time I listen to the series again, I pick up more of the main plot or side plots going on. Very interesting read or listen. Two of the best main characters and in depth side characters in a series of this type! Kill them all Carl!….but with style. lol

Carl and Donut for the win!!
Revisado: 07-05-24
I have listened and read each book in this series and laughed out loud so many times!! Very enjoyable humor between characters and the boss battle scenes are great! I really enjoy how something you think may be a filler or one liner ends up being a secret detail that is so important later! Pay attention to the small details they matter! I picked up this series on my kindle unlimited first as a quick story on a train trip and have ended up reading all that is available and purchasing all on audible too. The narration is great! You hear the irritation in Carl’s voice and it’s perfect! Donut’s comments that Mongo is upset when it is really her has just the right indignant tone to make me laugh. The microphone sound for donuts new headset is perfect!! Just annoying enough you know Carl is grinding his teeth and still loves that cat so much!! Keep on writing this great series!!! They will not break Carl!! He will win!! And no more water scenes for Donuts sake! ;) haha

Historia
As management reels from the unexpected conclusion of the seventh level, the surviving crawlers stumble onto the eighth and find themselves scattered. It’s a map based on Earth’s final days before the collapse, where ethereal, intangible ghosts of humanity go about their lives, oblivious of the impending doom. Living amongst these ghosts are monsters based in Earth lore. “Legendary” creatures tied to the geographical location they inhabit. Each team of crawlers is given a task: Find and capture six of these beasts.

Once again five star in laughs!
Revisado: 09-18-23
Been listening to Jon Ryans journeys since the beginning and still laughing out loud at the most unbelievable times. Narrator is great! He makes Tipps voice as annoying if not more than he is supposed to be ( but that makes it perfect) and you agree Jon should punch him. So glad Al is on this trip with Jon. They have been taking verbal shots at each other since day one. Hope it continues! I will say the only complaint I have is not much honestly happens “time” wise ( no joke intended) in this book. Hope the plot moves forward more and picks up in next book. As there isn’t any publishers packs with this section of the the series, the books are really short to pay a full credit and not much happens. Keeping the faith as the series so far has not disappointed.

Part 2 continues Johns quest to save Humanity
Revisado: 08-09-23
I enjoyed the first two stories in this series so much I quickly purchased the next set of two on audible. Without giving any major plot spoilers here are my thoughts on part 2.
John is as always a smarty pants and he continues to make me laugh thru these next two stories as well. I love Al and was worried he was not going to be present enough as the story started in part 2 and went in a very different direction. I was relieved as the story progressed and the issue was resolved and enjoyed greatly his superior snark towards John. There were small time jumps as needed for flow so the story didn’t drag. The story went in a big direction I did not enjoy at first, I was questioning WHY!!!?, for a couple chapters, but thinking back now, it was still going to happen one way or another at some point in time and made sense in the long run. (Spoiler free review harder than I thought for this series to explain my thoughts.) Only once or twice did the story seem to drag a bit to much when setting up for major plot points. A few side plots have been left as mild continuations for the next in the series. No huge cliff hangers. And the vortex is hilarious listened to on audible. Devious and it has lost a major bolt needed somewhere in space!! It probably fired it’s own bolt to kill something regardless of needing it. John’s character seems a lot harsher towards the vortex and I feel like I missed something on his meanness and actual hostility, that is not like John in his interactions and commentary towards this vortex. Still kinda scratching my head on that one.
The voices the reader chose for some of the characters made me laugh and one made me wonder how the alien was extremely
Spanish sounding but not the rest of his race was. That was off putting and not enjoyable. You could tell who the different characters were by the different voices created and it made for an easier listening experience even if I had a Spanish alien stuck in my mind at one point with a sombrero on his ugly alien head. lol Overall, a nice pace and easy to follow along and pay attention to the story itself and not get stuck on the reader. No heavy or out of breath breathing or weird,… get a drink of water please talker. We all have had that awful experience on some books.
Already for the final part 3 to start today.

A Carpathian woman this time! Yeah!!!!
Revisado: 02-25-23
I enjoyed this story a lot. It has a Carpathian woman introduced in a previous book as main character this book. She is life mate with one of the ancient hunters. He was already introduced as a side character in several previous books. This was a great choice instead of a human woman being converted. She had knowledge of their way of life so different conversations occurred that wouldn’t with a human. There was also abuse that she was saved from in previous book, if anyone has triggers. There are no flashbacks of the abuse. It is discussed what she went thru as a kidnapped victim.
There are a lot of other couples and Carpathian males also included! Several scenes of group community interactions!! This book is also a continuation of an overall story line started a few books ago. This was a good conclusion to a few side
plots and follow ups on previous couples. I like when there are groups of Carpathian friends interacting with each other. Joesph one of my favorite characters was in this one too!! A new “idea” was developed by the author for a major new plot, that will continue thru the next few books. I am looking forward to how it develops as it changes Carpathian ….power structure in a profound way possibly, depending on how the author continues/develops the series. No major cliff hanger at all just trying to be vague enough so I do not leave spoilers.
Performance was a bit dry and could have used a female voice for the female characters. Or used more inflections when speaking. Personal preference. Bring on the next one! :)

But now he needs help from the Doctor, Romana, and K-9. When he left Gallifrey he took with him a few little souvenirs - most of them are harmless. But one of them is extremely dangerous. A Tardis is not, and should not be a library!
Revisado: 06-29-22
This story is now in my top 10 favorite Dr. Who books. I really enjoyed the plot and the history of the Time Lords included in the storyline seamlessly. The narration is great from character to character. The ship’s interaction with the Doctor and others in the story was outrageously funny. Only wish was for Tom Baker to read his part. Narration was still very well done. I have listened to this story several times and learned new things.

A car accident in upstate New York strands Nero Wolfe, America's largest detective, and Archie Goodwin, his confidential assistant, in the midst of a family feud. The feud, over $45,000 worth of prize bull, turns ugly when the beef in question is found pawing the mangled body of a family scion. Solving the mystery is no problem - but, alas, the evidence keeps disappearing.

A flower show and a flat tire ends up having Nero resolved to solve a murder or two…
Revisado: 05-09-22
There are very few books that Rex Stout wrote that had Nero Wolfe outside the Brownstone. The novelty of that happening may be why I enjoy these few novels a bit more than others. Reading/Listening to Nero navigate the outside world and still try to do as little as possible physically, is enjoyable. Unless, Archie is in trouble and needs Nero. Nero shows his esteem and caring for Archie, and the unlimited lengths that Nero will go to, to protect Archie from others mistreating him in anyway Nero deems not satisfactory. This is also the book that Archie meets Lily. :)

Nero and Archie’s last case in the 1970’s!
Revisado: 01-15-22
I really enjoy Nero and Archie. This has a unique plot overall and gets very personal for the Brownstone residence. This book should be read after “really” knowing the characters well to appreciate this plot. It is the last book written by Rex and I would listen to it last to have a nice conclusion as the writer intended.
Anyone with knowledge of Rex Stouts writing knows that Nero and company do not age in the books as time marches forward. I love the 30’s and 40’s eras that a lot of the books were written in and the tv series in based on. But any time with wise cracking Archie and Genius Nero works for me with the Rex Stout novels.
This novel is based in the 1970’s and mentions time specific things in the novel. Watergate etc…
In my top ten for the Nero and Archie Audible list. Black Mountain is #1 btw

Revisado: 08-24-21
Enjoyed hearing the classic doctors. Sometimes the sound effects were a bit to loud compared to the voices but it really doesn’t matter in the end. Being able to enjoy classic doctor who is always a treat. The last story with Tom Baker was my favorite story. There are two stories total told with Tom Baker.
