Historia
This is the way the world ends...for the last time. It starts with the great red rift across the heart of the world's sole continent, spewing ash that blots out the sun. It starts with death, with a murdered son and a missing daughter. It starts with betrayal, and long dormant wounds rising up to fester. This is the Stillness, a land long familiar with catastrophe, where the power of the Earth is wielded as a weapon. And where there is no mercy.

Sad and poorly written
Revisado: 01-28-25
I don’t even know what the writer was going for. It’s abrupt ending makes it seem like there was a tight deadline and the story just leaps and bounds by the end that the reader wonders if there’s more to the story that needs to be said
Idk how this series got awards

Historia
Wolf of the North: It has been generations since the Northlands have seen a hero worthy of the title. Many have made the claim, but few have lived to defend it. Timid, weak, and bullied, Wulfric is as unlikely a candidate as there could be. Jorundyr's Path: Jorundyr's Path is walked only by the brave. As Wulfric pursues Adalhaid's Blood Debt, he soon learns that the path to revenge is never easy. The Blood Debt: A blade fit for a hero. An army for a tyrant. A reckoning long awaited, and a tale reaching its end.

Poor attempt to re-invigorate the series
Revisado: 01-05-24
Pierce brown forgot he was writing a red rising series. I think he confused his storyline with E.T. or was carried away by the success of the expanse by James Corey... 😂.
He’s got alien parasites in this series completely at random. I think the author watched alien vs predator and decided he could use the concept.
The narrators have changed, the plot has been completely lost, and the amount of time being given to side characters is like listening to a podcast without any ads to fill the white space so it doesn’t get pulled off the air. The side characters’ plot armor is so thick the creators of GOT Season 8 have tears of joy in their eyes.
The audio engineering is so poor the narration can be used to explain what the Doppler effect sounds like to physics undergrad students.
The amount of times it goes back and forth for each character would make a schizophrenic blush, and the variety of narrators makes it seems like this book is a Public sector undertakings to single-handedly improve the unemployment numbers in the country this was published in.
In short.. don’t bother listening to it. There’s nothing to listen to.. unless you want to just hear vamping for hours on end.

I disliked this POV style
Revisado: 01-02-24
Who on earth narrated for Lysander? Can’t they keep a normal tone of voice? The volume goes up and down like they’re giving us a live example of the Doppler effect. Very very annoying.

This audiobook started off with great detail and then short changes the listener into a quick suspenseful incomplete ending. Not sure if there are going to be more episodes but if ep8 is the end. Then don’t waste your time.
It basically ends when the stuff gets good.

Travis does it justice and the writing had progressed in many ways. This is by far in my top three of the series and the top three in this genre IMO.

Historia
Hinduism is a very broad term for the religious practices and doctrines of the Indian people. This tradition is believed to have begun in about 1800 BCE with religious poems known as the Vedas. Hinduism is best known in the west through the doctrines of Advaita, the belief that there is only one ultimate reality. Advaitans, however, worshipped a range of icons that represented the separate manifestations of the ultimate Brahman.

Absolutely positively regret purchasing the book.
Revisado: 07-08-21
I’m appalled at the way this book portrays Hinduism. The entire purpose of the audiobook is to draw the reader in with the narrator(s) voices.
Ben Kingsley narrates like the aristocrat of old and the “Indian” voices sound like they took their cues from Apu from the Simpsons.
I couldn’t get through the book, the narration is bad, the content is basically a version of “white man’s burden/ Manifest Destiny” and is so horribly wrong and presumptive, it could have been written by a cleric from 16th century Spain.. falls short of calling the “natives” heathens and recommending burning them alive to “save their souls” like in the “good old days”.
