Historia
The earliest traditions around the narrative of Jesus' resurrection are considered in this landmark work by Dale C. Allison, Jr, drawing together the fruits of his decades of research into this issue at the very core of Christian identity. Allison returns to the ancient sources and earliest traditions, charting them alongside the development of faith in the resurrection in the early church and throughout Christian history.

The Scholarship is Astounding
Revisado: 02-18-25
This book is the most impressive and expansive treatment of Christian apologetics, polemics, and history. Not for the faint of heart, this book will challenge your beliefs through the sheer force of the author's intelligence, deep knowledge of the subject matter, and honest application of theological analysis to enshrined Christian doctrines. A masterpiece from start to finish.

Jerusalem is the universal city, the capital of two peoples, the shrine of three faiths; it is the prize of empires, the site of Judgement Day and the battlefield of today’s clash of civilizations. From King David to Barack Obama, from the birth of Judaism, Christianity and Islam to the Israel-Palestine conflict, this is the epic history of three thousand years of faith, slaughter, fanaticism and coexistence. This is how Jerusalem became Jerusalem, and the only city that exists twice - in heaven and on earth.

Historia
Ulysses S. Grant's life has typically been misunderstood. All too often he is caricatured as a chronic loser and an inept businessman or as the triumphant but brutal Union general of the Civil War. But these stereotypes don't come close to capturing him, as Chernow reveals in his masterful biography, the first to provide a complete understanding of the general and president whose fortunes rose and fell with dizzying speed and frequency.

Historia
Originally published in six volumes, which sold more than one million copies, Carl Sandburg’s Abraham Lincoln was praised as the most noteworthy historical biography of Sandburg’s generation. He later distilled this monumental work into one volume that critics and readers alike consider his greatest work of nonfiction, as well as the most distinguished, authoritative biography of Lincoln ever published.
Growing up in an Illinois prairie town, Sandburg listened to stories of old-timers who had known Lincoln. By the time this single-volume edition was competed, he had spent a lifetime studying, researching, and writing about our 16th president.

Finest Biography of President Abraham Lincoln
Revisado: 05-02-18
I have read many books in regards to President Abraham Lincoln, including without limitation, "Lincoln and Chief Justice Taney Slavery, Secession, and the President's War Powers" by James F. Simon, "The Fiery Trial - Abraham Lincoln and American Slavery" by Eric Foner, and, of course, "Team of Rivals - The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln" by Doris Kearns Goodwin, which I generally considered my favorite book concerning President Abraham Lincoln.
In frequent pursuit of books concerning President Lincoln, I discovered "Abraham Lincoln - The Prairie Years and The War Years" by Carl Sandburg which I consider to be the best biography of President Abraham Lincoln in existence. In fact, "Abraham Lincoln - The Prairie Years and The War Years" won the Pulitzer Prize for History in 1940 which was richly deserved for what is undoubtedly a fantastic, unparalleled, riveting, thorough, and truly exceptional historical take on the life of the 16th President of the United States, President Abraham Lincoln.
This book is a must read for all President Lincoln enthusiasts as well as anyone and everyone who has serious interest in learning more about President Abraham Lincoln's life, his surprising and unimaginable rise to the greatest office in the land, as well as the trials and tribulations the President experienced as he guided the United States of America through the American Civil War (1861 to 1865), prevailing in said war, conquering the southern Confederate States, and ending the institution of slavery in the United States once and for all.
"Abraham Lincoln - The Prairie Years and The War Years" by Carl Sandburg presents President Abraham Lincoln as he was: a great human being, a great father, a great husband, a great leader, a visionary, and a truly great President of the United States who was deified by America upon his sudden and unexpected assassination by John Wilkes Booth at Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.C. on April 14, 1865.

Sobel instead exposes the real Coolidge, whose legacy as the most Jeffersonian of all twentieth-century presidents still reverberates today. Sobel delves into the record to show how Coolidge cut taxes four times, had a budget surplus every year in office, and cut the national debt by a third in a period of unprecedented economic growth.

Interesting Book
Revisado: 10-25-16
I found this to be a very interesting book about a relatively obscure president from the early 20th century. President Calvin Coolidge was very sucessful throughout his entire political career, including the presidency, and yet peculiarly he is largely forgotten. This book allows one to wonder if he should not be afforded the same consideration as say President Bill Clinton who also oversaw a very successful American economy during his tenure. Perhaps the opposite is true and President Clinton will join President Coolige and will end up largely forgotten by future historians.

In this stirring audiobook, David McCullough tells the intensely human story of those who marched with General George Washington in the year of the Declaration of Independence, when the whole American cause was riding on their success, without which all hope for independence would have been dashed and the noble ideals of the Declaration would have amounted to little more than words on paper.

Historia
This New York Times best seller is a thrilling account of one of the most pivotal moments in United States history. Six months after the Declaration of Independence, America was nearly defeated. Then on Christmas night, George Washington led his men across the Delaware River to destroy the Hessians at Trenton. A week later Americans held off a counterattack, and in a brilliant tactical move, Washington crept behind the British army to win another victory. The momentum had reversed.

Fantastic book which provides great insight into the seminal early victories of the Continental Army under the direct leadership of General George Washington. This book, when coupled with David McCullough's "1776", will give any interested reader an excellent understanding of the mighty struggles and unbelievable achievements of the early American Revolution.
