Historia
In 2017, a routine network television investigation led to a story only whispered about: one of Hollywood’s most powerful producers was a predator, protected by fear, wealth, and a conspiracy of silence. As Farrow drew closer to the truth, shadowy operatives, from high-priced lawyers to elite war-hardened spies, mounted a secret campaign of intimidation, threatening his career, following his every move, and weaponizing an account of abuse in his own family.

Great story of investigated journalism
Revisado: 10-19-19
A great account off the systematic injustice that allows powerful men to get away with anything from one of the first people to report on the issue for which he won a Pulitzer.
My only complaint is when Ronan tries to do foreign accents...particularly several Slavic accents and particularly the Italian accent of Guitierrez sound cartoonish

Historia
The Two Towers is the second volume of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic saga, The Lord of the Rings. The Fellowship has been forced to split up. Frodo and Sam must continue alone towards Mount Doom, where the One Ring must be destroyed. Meanwhile, at Helm’s Deep and Isengard, the first great battles of the War of the Ring take shape. In this splendid, unabridged audio production of Tolkien’s great work, all the inhabitants of a magical universe - hobbits, elves, and wizards - spring to life. Rob Inglis’ narration has been praised as a masterpiece of audio.

Unpopular Opinion but Rob Inglis is not great
Revisado: 07-24-19
This book is frustrating to listen to because Rob Inglis doesn’t have any variety to his voices, I was just listening to and grime wormtongue basically has the same voice as Aragorn. The only variety he gives is his “deep” voice he gives to Gimli and some other characters.

Historia
From the time of Ancient Sumeria, the heavy infantry phalanx dominated the battlefield. Armed with spears or pikes, standing shoulder to shoulder with shields interlocking, the men of the phalanx presented an impenetrable wall of wood and metal to the enemy. Until, that is, the Roman legion emerged to challenge them as masters of infantry battle.

It seems to me no guide to pronunciation was given to this guy, he is all over the place in his pronunciation of Latin and Greek calling things like the agoge the “agodge” and his Latin has a bouncy quality like Italian, he also pronounces “c” before I or e with a tch like Ecclesiastical Latin which rubs me the wrong way

Historia
A young, naïve but ultimately courageous hedge knight, Ser Duncan the Tall towers above his rivals—in stature if not experience. Tagging along is his diminutive squire, a boy called Egg—whose true name is hidden from all he and Dunk encounter. Though more improbable heroes may not be found in all of Westeros, great destinies lay ahead for these two . . . as do powerful foes, royal intrigue, and outrageous exploits. Featuring more than 160 all-new illustrations by Gary Gianni, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a must-have collection that proves chivalry isn’t dead—yet.

Delightful diversion from the ASOIAF saga
Revisado: 11-24-18
These stories are just fun, Dunk and Egg tell self contained and complete stories with more an air of medieval romance than the main series. Harry Lloyd (Viserys on HBO) does a great job giving voice to these stories

Historia
Frequently depicted as “Scandinavian scavengers”, warlike pirates, raiders, and invaders, the Vikings have lately surfaced from the depths of history to become pop culture’s most adored ruffians. For Prof. Fee, this recent craze for all things Viking is a mixed blessing. The spike in popular fascination often occasions a need to separate the wheat from the chaff: fact from fiction, history from myth, literature from legend.

On audible, for those who like 30 min chunks of lectures on subjects you have a lot of choice when it come to the Norsemen. Two stand above this, Kenneth Harl’s “The Vikings” or Michael Drout “The Norsemen”, Those two give more compelling lectures with excellent lecturers

Great book
Revisado: 11-01-18
This go much further than the stoic individual we all imagine. The author makes great use of diaries and letters to show the real motivations behind the man and what he cared about. One thing that struck me with Washington is how perhaps vain he was before the revolution, obsessed with his own wealth, appearances, and possessions. He also highlights the sad irony in his life that many of the people he cared most about died too soon from his father, his brother Lawrence, and his step children Patsy and Jack

In 2009, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed at the Super Bowl's halftime show. The experience was so exhilarating that Bruce decided to write about it. That's how this extraordinary autobiography began. Over the past seven years, Bruce Springsteen has privately devoted himself to writing the story of his life, bringing to this audio the same honesty, humor, and originality found in his songs.

Breakfast of Champions is vintage Vonnegut. One of his favorite characters, aging writer Kilgore Trout, finds to his horror that a Midwest car dealer is taking his fiction as truth. The result is murderously funny satire as Vonnegut looks at war, sex, racism, success, politics, and pollution in America and reminds us how to see the truth.

Trying to understand our human origins has always been a fundamental part of who we are. Today, with the help of dramatic archaeological discoveries and groundbreaking advancements in technology and scientific understanding, we are closer than we've ever been to learning the true story. In recent decades, it has been the science of paleoanthropology that has led the investigation, helping us make sense of this controversial subject and providing us with a richer understanding of our origins.
