Historia
Legendary magician Penn Jillette was approaching his 60th birthday. Topping 330 pounds and saddled with a systolic blood pressure reading over 200, he knew he was at a dangerous crossroads: If he wanted to see his small children grow up, he needed to change. And then came Crazy Ray. A former NASA scientist and an unconventional, passionate innovator, Ray Cronise saved Jillette's life with his wild "potato diet". Outspoken, frank, and bitingly clever, Presto is an incisive, rollicking listen.

Gain appreciation for modern niceties
Revisado: 11-21-14
If you could sum up The Industrial Revolution in three words, what would they be?
There was a lot of ground work done to get where we are today...some of the canal works and the affects on commerce were very interesting...it's funny but this section asks for three words but requires a minimum of 15 words...perhaps there is a machine to scrunch them down...

Historia
Beneath the gaze of the gods, the mighty armies of Greece and Troy met in fierce and glorious combat, scrupulously following the text set forth in Homer's timeless narrative. But that was before 21st-century scholar Thomas Hockenberry stirred the bloody brew, causing an enraged Achilles to join forces with his archenemy, Hector, and turn his murderous wrath on Zeus and the entire pantheon of divine manipulators; before the swift and terrible mechanical creatures that catered for centuries to the pitiful idle remnants of Earth's human race began massing in the millions, to exterminate rather than serve.

Would you listen to Olympos again? Why?
I have listened to it twice already and will again...the interweaving of historical fiction with scifi is just so tasty to have only one helping...

What made the experience of listening to The Abyss Beyond Dreams the most enjoyable?
Having read his previous commonwealth series I experienced the more lengthy character development in this series as a kind of jazz quartet improvising on some familiar history from the commonwealth series but with a brand new problem to solve

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes...I tend to like epic sci fi books like Time enough for love by Heinlein...this book/series has a similar scope but weaving through a narrower time period

Barely a half-step ahead of his nemesis and the CIA, who believes he has gone rogue, Bourne finds himself a pawn in a larger, far deadlier game.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Bourne Legacy to be better than the print version?
Just listened...
What about Scott Brick’s performance did you like?
Carries the story well
Any additional comments?
Reading or listening to the book one can imagaine Jason Bourne as still being Matt Damon...in the movie of course one could not..

Starts off gradually and winds up to a great end
Revisado: 07-23-12
What did you love best about The Windup Girl?
The narration is good, the cast of characters vivid and believable; a plausible world situation...
What other book might you compare The Windup Girl to and why?
Nueromancer , Blade Runner...because the worlds are affected by corporate motivations and interests foremost and the rest of the populations live in reflex to this environment
Have you listened to any of Jonathan Davis’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes Genghis Kan and the making of the modern world, Count Zero and Snow Crash...Enjoyable voice in all.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When the Windup girl overcomes her conditioning...
Any additional comments?
Very enjoyable

Dark Humour

A sad tale: but only sad as an after thought. While the characters are victims of the drug culture and seem funny at the time their tragic endings makes this a tragic comedy.
