Historia
Ruth Jefferson is a labor and delivery nurse at a Connecticut hospital with more than 20 years’ experience. During her shift, Ruth begins a routine checkup on a newborn, only to be told a few minutes later that she’s been reassigned to another patient. The parents are white supremacists and don’t want Ruth, who is African American, to touch their child. The hospital complies with their request, but the next day, the baby goes into cardiac distress while Ruth is alone in the nursery. Does she obey orders or does she intervene?

Amazing story
Revisado: 06-05-24
I loved everything about this book-especially the relevancy to black vs white and how society treats the colors which most try to say don’t matter. I love a book with a lesson- historical, moral, cultural- this had it all in the presence of a story I struggled to turn off.
I hope everyone applauds Jodi Piccout for her work and the time she took to research all aspects.

Truly enjoyed listening to this novel. Learned quite a bit about the ladies working the signal Corps in World War I and the story was engaging throughout its entirety. Definitely recommend

Historia
Alice Wright marries handsome American Bennett Van Cleve hoping to escape her stifling life in England. But small-town Kentucky quickly proves equally claustrophobic, especially living alongside her overbearing father-in-law. So, when a call goes out for a team of women to deliver books as part of Eleanor Roosevelt’s new traveling library, Alice signs on enthusiastically. The leader, and soon Alice's greatest ally, is Margery, a smart-talking, self-sufficient woman who's never asked a man's permission for anything.

Had me laughing out loud!!
Revisado: 11-06-19
This book is great, narrated with an English accent, it is great for anyone who is a mother [or father I guess] who has ever doubted their abilities to, well, "Mother" It follows the story of an average "mum" among the various other stereotypical Mums and even 2 dads as she deals with school drama, expectations at home and the challenge of trying to keep her ego and appeal to men [or one man] alive. I laughed out loud so hard in chapter 15 I almost had to pull over while driving.
It might be a bit slow in the beginning but is well worth it in the end
