Historia
In The Small and the Mighty, Sharon McMahon proves that the most remarkable Americans are often ordinary people who didn’t make it into the textbooks. Not the presidents, but the telephone operators. Not the aristocrats, but the schoolteachers. Through meticulous research, she discovers history’s unsung characters and brings their rich, riveting stories to light for the first time.

Good stories, but hard to follow
Revisado: 10-30-24
I absolutely love Sharon, and these stories are so important to share. I am very glad. I listened to this, but I often found it very hard to follow. I also have a physical copy of the book and tried reading some of that as well. It did not make it less confusing. The author jumps around a lot and mentions so many people that it is impossible to keep them all straight.

Historia
Set in the mountains of southern Appalachia, Demon Copperhead is the story of a boy born to a teenaged single mother in a single-wide trailer, with no assets beyond his dead father’s good looks and copper-colored hair, a caustic wit, and a fierce talent for survival. Relayed in his own unsparing voice, Demon braves the modern perils of foster care, child labor, derelict schools, athletic success, addiction, disastrous loves, and crushing losses.

The perfect book
Revisado: 03-12-23
This hit like the first time I read some of the classics. Brilliant. And heartbreakingly beautiful. Definitely hit every emotion. This story is rich with truth and hope.

Historia
He was the first person to inspire her, to move her, to truly understand her. Was he meant to be the last? Lucy is faced with a life-altering choice. But before she can make her decision, she must start her story - their story - at the very beginning. When they meet again a year later, it seems fated - perhaps they'll find life's meaning in each other.

Author should leave the reading to professionals
Revisado: 11-21-19
Very sweet story. I liked it a lot. But the author sounded like a high schooler reading it. Should have had a professional read it. Was a major bummer for a beautiful story.

Historia
For four years, from the election of John Fitzgerald Kennedy until after the election of Lyndon Johnson, Clint Hill was the Secret Service agent assigned to guard the glamorous and private Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy. During those four years, he went from being a reluctant guardian to a fiercely loyal watchdog and friend. Looking back, Clint Hill tells his story for the first time, offering a tender and tragic portrayal of how a Secret Service agent who started life in an orphanage became the most trusted man in the life of the First Lady who captivated first the nation and then the world.
