I loved the premise of the story line, very different. whole time you are thinking this girl is Cray cray , but even so you are in her corner and find something gnawing at you and annoying about all the other people who have it out for her. the ending twist was great! well narrated and well thought out. I would check out this author again!

I loved this whole meet cute, it was amazing!

spoiler alert....I just read this one again for second time and had to amend my original review to say the only thing that got me pissed on this was not following through with the one storyline that would take down the ex. Eluded to something was going to happen and then nothing...she sure deserved to feel her greedy betrayal smack her on her ass after all she did to Beck...just saying! That was the only thing I would have changed

First, loved the storyline! Second, loved the narrators, a few new voices for me in this book but they were all great! Strange part was it was dual narration and then at times it wasn't and that threw me off...like Claude was Ellen's male voice instead of one of the guys using a secondary voice? I think that is my only criticism.

The interview at end was nice to hear how Laurelin and Andi both got into this whole world, because it is one I dream of entering as I think of what the third act of my life should look like, and since Andi is such a powerful voice in the literary world in general championing such great causes as well as being one of my favorite narrators, was very insightful. Knowing Laurelin struggle personally as she organically transitioned into this genre was empowering also, so thank you both for the afterwords.

I am starting right into book 4 but intrigued that hopefully a book 5 is in the works....waiting with baited breath!

Why have 6 narrators and not be dual narration...makes no sense??? Also really enraged when the text/emails are in dual narration...why not the whole book??? Who produced dropped the ball! Now the narrators... CJ is awesome as always. Teddy was good too. Rock um so so he sounds like an old man who doesn't ever match his character. Whomever played Larkin does this annoying tsk and clicking sound to t/c/k/s words and loud swallowing between some sentences like saliva built up...yuk...Shame because her voice could be good otherwise.Cooper sounds like a box of rocks the voice is bad, had to speed up the book to 1.35 to deal. Nora

Now for the story....story was good, had some funny scenes that are a MQ trademark so thank you. If you are MQ book reader than you know you will like it...but maybe just read on kindle without narration...sorry

Missing the MQ humor & Mila frustrated me!

SPOILER ALERT.....The narration was great, loved both as narrators. Meghan didn't add a few of her signature scenes that evoke historical laughter while listening and I understand were trying to highlight the trauma Mila faced growing up with her parents but we still could of added some signature humor.

Also Mila character annoyed me because she seemed like the woman who said... yes I have talked about our issues but you didn't listen so I am out but she actually didn't ever she just assumed he should automatically know, news alert no-one would have... she just expected him to know rather than truly voicing the root issue...as there was only one...selfishness. She never blatantly said...hey...you are not listening to me, ignoring me, leaving me by myself, moved me without a discussion.... she never said any of that until well after requesting the divorce which frustrated me. Also frustrated me how she was like I need to set these ridiculous ground rules but I don't need to follow them when Riot was so clearly following the rules she had set and he was trying to the point he should get a medal. Her past trauma and how she turtles in on herself was no excuse for saying I want a divorce in this instance after just a few months - try for counseling first.

The whole sequence of events burned me and made me team Riot. I also was furious with Riot bc yes he was wrong however he never neglected her to the point that it was not obvious he loved her more than life- Mila threatening neglect was not true neglect but just Riot over worked on a new start-up which is understandable and based on his character he would have modified had she actually said something rather than just played the... if you don't know you don't deserve me card. Again boils down to her character was overly selfish and his was a little too caving or ready to take the blame. I get why he didn't say why this new venture made him driven bc she is so childishly needy and easily upset over things she should be grateful.

The book obviously frustrated me, the flashbacks were helpful but also just emphasized that Mila never truly grew through their love otherwise she would have been straight forward with how she felt not played games and then get upset when those games backfired on her. If she truly had grown and healed, she would of actually had more strength. Basically should have said look I will always be damaged no matter how perfect you are as a husband and friend bc seriously Riot is the most perfect of all male characters in the bookeverse and this one small stretch of work distraction does not equate to all this drama that could have been avoided... 6hr too many but I made it to the end to be able to validate my frustration beginning to end.

I love love love Vi Keeland books but this one.....ughhh! I can't with this woman Meredith! I just wanted this book to be over I was so annoyed. Narrator did a good job of making the crazy real but just stop already. The mental patients have nothing on this state of mental break from reality and deep dive into insanity-insane from sentence one!

Next book....so I can forget this one. Sorry Vi

Another great book filled with funny antics, sexy scenes and strong characters. Ideally despised Gabriel Ferrara in the Miles high books but now...of course we love him. My only gripe....Ending was a bit abrupt but it was complete.

Loved this story and all the positivity. *****Spoiler alert*****Rachel should have gotten 2 comeuppance at the end but the one she got was good. The hint that Anthony would get his was not enough for me... I wanted to see him be sued by Chris, Trixie and her mom for so many counts and reasons and also lose as well as maybe some jail time... but I guess we need to use our imagination for that ending.

This book should resonate for all because high school was no prize in 80-90s for even the "popular" ones (trust me I was cheer capt but life still wasn't all roses and champagne) and I cannot imagine it today with social media and the amount of hate that is spewed so freely in this current political climate of our nation. Kindness costs nothing but rewards one infinitely when you provide the smallest of nice deeds like a genuine hi or hug. All should think three times before they say or do something that could impact a person(s) negatively going forward because I do believe that somehow karma prevails, let the karma you get back be good and not bad. If you were the Rachel of the world, let the person you garner become your boss in the future...that is always karmic and very possible....

I just lost my mom and at her service, it wasn't the usual diatribe you give when someone loses a loved one, it was true loss and admiration by others for a great soul who helped everyone in her path one way or another. She truly did not boast and even though she didn't go to church regularly (ok never) she still lived a what would classify as a Christian life so much more so than those that call themselves "Christians" and have to let everyone know they are so....(both protest too much and such...). I pray that I am even half of the person she was because half of her is 80% better than most- HONESTLY! I am grateful when I read this book that I have no fear or guilt as I did not treat people with malice, that I am proud to have been excepting of all the groups and clicks that formed in school and took the time to table hop with a kind hello no matter if they were my bestie or just an acquaintance. Glad and resound in the fact that if my last breath is tonight, tomorrow people will remember me for giving of myself even if I didn't have anything to give, because that is what my mom would have done. Thank you mom for being a great role model and to this author thank you for creating a mom who was a great role model to her daughter Trixie.

Trixie's character is a good one...bravo!

um.....why did I think this would be about Gabriel Ferrara from Miles High series or one of his brothers? Book was good once I pivoted with realization but TL we need a book about Ferrara side of the Miles equation as you tried to soften us slightly with Claire Anderson insight on him, so thought....

Narration was good though males seemed to growl a little too much at times

I waited for the Posey Book

SPOILER ALERT
Not gonna lie I waited for the Posey book because he was the glue to this team! The premise of the storyline in general was good once you get to the end, but strangely found myself fuming in the early chapters and not liking Wiley so much....I just felt the way she went about things was beneath the character of someone who should wind up with Posey. I felt she didn't take her opportunity serious, even if she did realize her dad was screwing with her and felt Posey was complicit in his assistance. I feel like any self-respecting woman would have handled the situation differently, but I muddled through....This was just my opinion of course, you need to read to make your own judgement.
Narration wise, Emma Wilder is not one of my favorite voices but she wasn't too annoying in this narration but she still had that intonation that makes me cringe, which may also not have bode well for the character Wiley by association... sorry. Not too much Erin Mallon thank goodness when the women were texting so that helped because the rest of the narrators I tend to like and lord knows I only suffer through Erin if I really really want to listen to a book like I did in her book in this series. so thanks that it worked out in my favor for the most part on narration.
overall pleased with the book and the ending made up for the beginning.
