If you've read Dark Planet Warriors........

Gotta Love those Kordolians, they are so HOT. FYI This series has the same characters and continues on with the 1st Division taking place shortly after the Kordolian Empire has fallen. This series is good so far but Dark Planet Warriors series was great. Here's a couple reasons I have. Unlike Dark Planet Warriors, I have yet to figure out the plot of the series. Is it just to keep humans out of hands of the evil Kordolians? Willl the "Mercenaries" AKA 1st Division, foil some grand scheme from the remnants of Kithia's Nobility? TBD

Darkstar Mercenaries series has a different narrator and there are conflicts in pronunciation to Dark Planet Warriors. Names are pronounced differently, and instead of saying the Roman Numeral (RN) of the ships he says the letter, example Risval 5 is pronounced Risval Vee, same thing with (RN) 10 he says X instead of Ten, this happens with all the (RN) when saying the ships names. I was confused at first. His voice was very pleasant and besides what I stated he's done a great job. I liked they did change to a males voice and it goes well with this series. I will definitely keep on buying the e-book and audiobooks.

How it all began!

Outstanding! Seth's story needed to be told. Besides Seath finding love with Leah, the book finally explains the source of the gifted ones and answers many questions we all asked in the series. Anyone who has read the past books should definitely read this one. How it all began...

Narration Do Over Please!

The Narrator was soooo slooowww. Every word is drawn out and takes forever to finish a sentence. I had to speed up the play from 1.0 to 1.4 throughout most of the book. The accent used by this alien was a combo of Irish/Scottish. Didn't work for the Hero Alien. Katie was a weak character and I wanted to knock some sense into her. She didn't do anything to change her future in an abusive relationship when she was the money maker and never calling the cops. Seems like she wanted to be beaten. And who dreams of their "perfect wedding" to be at the court house. Really? Story could have been good but fell short.

Where's the romance?

The storyline had potential but was lacking romance and seduction between the Hero and Heroine. They had no romantic encounters with each other, he did nothing but ruin her life, put her in prison. His cousin on the other hand, should have been the "Hero" of the story. It was a let down, the "Hero" claims he "rescued" her when another man did. Then the last 15 minutes of the book they somehow, all of a sudden, love each other. That made no sense. I was routing for the other guy. I liked most of the book but the end it flopped. Bummer.

This was a good story and was worth the credit. But....This book could contain triggers for certain people if your dealing with rape or have been sexually assaulted.

Good always triumphs over Evil???

I thought the Hunters would get the staff back after it was stolen in the previous book. Instead, the powers of the Eternal Staff is unleashed. The Hunters base of operations and everyone in it are slaughtered. Dang, I thought Edra & Radnar would get away, I didn't see that coming. Black Glade is discovered and Sybbyl wants the Warlocks for her personal harem. The Coven turns its sites on Black Glade to wipe them out at the end of the book. Maybe Black Glade will have better luck than the Hunters.

Will definitely get the next book when it comes out. This is actually a great series by Donna Grant. I love the descriptions of the Witches Grove and of magic being used. Makes a great visual.

Finally! The big show down.

This is by far the best book in the Reapers series. Death finally stands up instead of hiding and takes down her enemy. Love all the action and characters in different series coming together in this book.

Phantom Embrace - Excellent Story

I tried to listen to the whole collection but I can't stand the sound of this narrator. I listened to the first story, then skipped to Phantom Embrace since I couldn't handle her raspy old voice much. Love Dianne Duvall's Immortal Guardians and was so sad Yuri fell in the line of duty but still got his Happily Ever After. Cat and her brother Sebastian have such a tragic past, so it's nice to see Cat finally found love after death. I ended up buying the Kindle version and read the book also, which I enjoyed more. I give this story only, 5 stars. The first story in the collection I would give a 4. Didn't listen to the other two.

Love this Series

Out of all the different series from S.E. Smith, this is my favorite. It's the most down to Earth, yet out of this world. I can imagine this happening in Earth's space exploration in the near future. What will we find? Can't wait to see what will happen in the next book with the turned/ flipped General & Julia's love story. One thing I like about this series is the different planets being described. A planet filled with floating islands in the sky reminded me of the movie Avitar. I would like to see a planet of fire & ice, like Iceland, being used in this series.

Favorite Story So Far

Loved the story, seems like they get better and better, never a dull moment in the books. The narrator's male and female voices sound the same so it was hard to tell who was talking at some points. Overall he did do a good job but would like to have the different characters have different voices to set them apart.
