Good, except for performance

Narrator was too dramatic when reading her letters to Shelby. I had to roll my eyes several times.

They say Paris is always a good idea.... You know what I say? Paris would be a much better idea if I spoke the dang language. I can't even board the metro to visit the Louvre without ending up at the Moulin Rouge, and let's not even mention how I'll ever make it through a day at my new office. Fortunately my company hooks me up with my own personal translator. Ooh la la. Or should I say bloody hell? Because he's charming, witty, and British, and he brings the city to life for me.

Not a fan of Romance.
Revisado: 08-23-20
I couldn’t listen any longer, I don’t know why I chose a Romance, but thought I’d give it a try. Can’t do it, there are too many other books that I will enjoy to waste my time listening to this.

Once I got used to the different accents, the story wasn't much to listen to. I almost quit listening a few times. I wish I had.

Someone has tried to kill the French president. How many snipers can shoot from three-quarters of a mile with total confidence? John Kott—a U.S. Army marksman gone bad—is one of them. After fifteen years in prison, he’s out . . . and there’s a G8 summit coming up, packed with enough world leaders to tempt any assassin.

Good book, bad narrator.
Revisado: 04-22-15
My husband and I enjoy listening to audio books as we travel in the car. This narrator fluctuated his voice way too much. Some parts were fine and then he'd change to another character and we couldn't hear him. Plus, this was a bad voice for Jack Reacher, much too old sounding. First Tom Cruise portraying him being physically too small, and now this! I guess I'll have to stick to reading his books unless there's a different narrator.

Maybe 20 is Too Many
Revisado: 02-01-14
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Someone who hasn't read every one of her books.
Has Takedown Twenty turned you off from other books in this genre?
No.
What three words best describe Lorelei King’s performance?
Good, clear, fun.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Takedown Twenty?
The giraffe being loose in the city.
Any additional comments?
I can't decide if her stories are getting worse, or I've just tired of the "same ol', same ol'.

What made the experience of listening to The Cider House Rules the most enjoyable?
I enjoyed the format of following just a few characters throughout their lives.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Cider House Rules?
When Homer discovered who had impregnated Angel's girlfriend and how it changed his entire viewpoint of abortions.
Which scene was your favorite?
Picturing the apple pickers on the roof of the Cider House watching the ferris wheel in the distance and their interpretation of what they were seeing.
Any additional comments?
One of my all time favorites!

Lisbeth Salander—the heart of Larsson’s two previous novels—lies in critical condition, a bullet wound to her head, in the intensive care unit of a Swedish city hospital. She’s fighting for her life in more ways than one: if and when she recovers, she’ll be taken back to Stockholm to stand trial for three murders. With the help of her friend, journalist Mikael Blomkvist, she will not only have to prove her innocence, but also identify and denounce those in authority.

Great Ending
Revisado: 06-02-11
I enjoyed this book series every step of the way. Simon Vance is the best narrator I've listened to, which is a good thing, since it's a long series. I was afraid that with so many characters, some would be left hanging, but Steig Larson wrapped up the last book beautifully!
