I am listening to this right after listening to the original book. More wonderful, storytelling and fantastic content. But the actual reading of the book is quite a disappointment as the audio is just awful. Wish this could be redone. Don’t know if I will be able to finish.

This book probably has a lot to offer but I am bailing on chapter 2. This narrator sounds like he is a computer generation. Don’t waste your money.

Let’s get one thing straight. This is not a sports book. It is sports literature of the highest order. From the opening sentence, Hamilton paints a picture with the most evocative, atmospheric and nostalgic scenes I’ve ever come across, rising to the brilliance of the painting for which this fine book is titled. The narration by David Mounfield is equally brilliant. Damn, I want to go to the match!

I kept waiting for this to live up the hype, but after pounding this listener's head against the wall for five hours or so, I quit. Absolutely nothing here that most Catholics haven't heard in terms of what ails society and us. I say this from an orthodox perspective on things, so I agree with everything he points out, but this is no profile in courage when it comes to proposing real solutions. Lots of platitudes and embarrassing attempts to quote Pope Francis to demonstrate his magnanimity.

Was the Reformation a Mistake? Audiolibro Por Kevin J. Vanhoozer - contributor, Matthew Levering arte de portada

The best resource I've come across to understand the great Reformation debate. Levering boldly presents Luther's strongest arguments against the Catholic Church, offers his "Biblical Reflections" in favor of Biblical Catholicism on nine key teachings, and this fine book concludes with a smack down of "Biblical Catholicism" by Kevin Vanhoozer. Levering's typological arguments are absolutely fascinating and Vanhoozer's rebuttal is equally compelling. It's all done in a gentlemanly style debate and has so much to offer for anyone willing to consider both sides.

Oh my, this is the worst narration on audible I've heard! Stilted and over enunciated in the extreme, but the worst is that for every quote in a quote-heavy book, he says "quote/end quote" so you end up hearing "quote/end quote" over, and over, and over......so bad!
