Narration of the book was amazing!
Revisado: 08-23-23
This is the first book by this author I have read. Love the friendship and chemistry between the 2 main characters. The book had a lot of moments that made me laugh and smile. Loved this book. A good mix of sweet and heat. The 2 narrators did an amazing job. Definitely a keeper and one to recommend to anyone looking for romance that is a friends to lovers story÷. Has a HEA ending and can be read as a standalone.

Practical Magic is a great listen!
Revisado: 05-29-21
The book is different from the movie. It's better in some ways. I listened to Practical Magic for a book club. Definitely not a waste of a book credit. I would recommend this book! Family. Strong female characters. Love. Self discovery. Darkness. Light. Magic that is sometimes practical and others not so much.

Historia
Paul, a religious teen living in a small conservative town, finds his world turned upside down when he meets Manuel - a young man who says he’s both Christian and gay, two things that Paul didn’t think could coexist in one person. Doesn’t the Bible forbid homosexuality? As Paul struggles with Manuel’s interpretation of the Bible, thoughts that Paul has long tried to bury begin to surface, and he finds himself re-examining his whole life. This is an unforgettable book on an extremely timely topic that strives to open minds on both ends of the spectrum.

I purchased a copy of this book years ago and loved it. I decided to give the audio book a chance and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend it!

Historia
Doctor Anne Griffin is back in Oak Creek, Wyoming, only because she has no other options. Here, she was always the shy, stuttering girl, invisible to everyone. Except Zac. The very reason she left in the first place. Zac's years in Special Forces taught him survival skills, and he's created a company - Linear Tactical - to teach those skills to others, so they never have to live in fear. Then why is Annie, the last person he'd ever want to hurt, afraid of him?

Story is OK but the character of Anne is lacking
Revisado: 01-15-21
The only complaint I have is that Anne's dialogue in the story was a little lacking. She says, "Okay" a LOT. But I feel like this could have been overlooked by Anne's character being voiced by a female. The male narrator didn't do so well voicing Anne and her nervous hesitation.

Historia
Tom McCallister has been in love with his best friend Lyla for as long as he can remember, but what would be the point of telling her that? He's known that it's hopeless ever since she came out to him as a lesbian during their freshman year of college. Lyla likes women, and Tom is definitely not a woman. But when Tom loses both his job and his girlfriend on the same day, Lyla is still the first person he turns to for support. She tells him to drop everything and fly out to see her in New York, confident that some friend time is exactly what he needs to get through his slump.

Meh
Revisado: 01-09-21
3 stars simply because the narrator did a good job. The story was meh. 2 stars. Not the worst short story I've ever read but not the greatest. Not enough detail and storyline development. Guy turns into girl. Hooks up with best friend and they live happily ever after in the blink of an eye.

He knew she was shattered by some event she kept hidden under lock and key. The clues on her body failed to reveal her secrets - unlike scars on his body that clearly publicized his. The clock was ticking, giving him only a short time to uncover the true meaning of the flower branded into her flesh. Because if she got back on that plane, he knew it would be forever.

The narrators for Piper and Mason did an amazing job. Loved this story. I haven't read the first two books in this series but I didn't struggle with this book. In my opinion it can be read as a standalone.

Historia
Aza Holmes never intended to pursue the disappearance of fugitive billionaire Russell Pickett, but there’s a hundred-thousand-dollar reward at stake and her Best and Most Fearless Friend, Daisy, is eager to investigate. So together, they navigate the short distance and broad divides that separate them from Pickett’s son Davis. Aza is trying. She is trying to be a good daughter, a good friend, a good student, and maybe even a good detective, while also living within the ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts.

John Green wrote another A+ book
Revisado: 10-18-20
John Green is considered a YA author but his books can be enjoyed by people of all ages. John Green doesn't do happily ever after in his books but life continues just as it would in the real world. Turtles All The Way Down is a book that addresses mental health. Aza is a believable character. I think readers will be able to relate to the issues/feelings felt by her and those she is close to. Life for Aza and the people around her isn't perfect but they keep going. I think that is a great message. It's definitely beats a happily ever after. The narration was excellent especially during one of Aza's mental spirals. I highly recommend this book to fans of John Green. New comers to his work: This is an excellent starting point.
