Historia
Fortysomething Annette Osmund always knew she was psychic. She's not, but that didn't stop her from giving those nonexistent abilities her all. What she is, however, is a very powerful witch who has just inherited magics she never dreamed possible. Starting over in a new town with her BFF has been an adventure. Defiance's status as a powerful type of witch called a charmling has kept Annette busy. But while Deph, a seeker, is still learning to use her magics, to control the power at her fingertips, Annette is overcome with powers of her own.

Had me interested from the first sentence
Revisado: 09-18-24
Very entertaining and there’s no slow moments! You know how some authors have filler chapters where nothing is going on? None of that in this book! It’s jam packed with action. I’m not talking about fighting action, I mean something interesting is always going on.

The police have stopped investigating - after all, Sophie has sent postcards home, insisting that she's fine. Then one evening, as she volunteers at a charity helpline for missing teens, a call comes in from a voice Kate instinctively recognizes, even through bursts of static and beyond the sudden dial tone that breaks their connection. Those closest to Kate worry she's cracking under her grief....

Historia
When you get up in the morning, the last thing you expect to see is a murdered guy hanging outside your window. Things like that tend to draw the attention of the local police, and when you're squatting in your parents' old house until you can afford to buy it, another thing you can't afford is the attention of the cops. Oh yeah. Hi. My name is Pet. It's not my real name, but it's the only one you're getting.

Caught my attention from the start
Revisado: 03-10-23
I was looking for something different without all the soppy in love with a Fae story and this fit the bill! Mysterious and interesting. I still have questions, but not in a “I’m not satisfied way.” More of a I can’t wait for the next book way. Love the fairy godtrash man who keeps stealing her stuff. I can’t wait to find out who he is.

I’m so happy Kim Harrison decided to bring this series back! It feels like home (since My first audible book was this series.) Great story, kept me listening and just her formula of writing always delivers something great. I missed Jenks (he is so funny to me!!)

Did not like it
Revisado: 01-11-22
It just wasn’t interesting to me. I didn’t like the narrator and the plot wasn’t good. I normally like this genre, but this book was stupid.

Historia
On the first day of the new year, no one dies. This of course causes consternation among politicians, religious leaders, morticians, and doctors. Among the general public, on the other hand, there is initially celebration - flags are hung out on balconies, people dance in the streets. They have achieved the great goal of humanity: eternal life. Then reality hits home....

Monotonous
Revisado: 10-03-21
I couldn’t finish the book. The narrator is horrible and speaks in a monotone voice. If you want a book to put you to sleep this is it. The author gets stuck in the details instead of giving the book “meat” that keeps you interested. This sounds like a thesis for a college professor.

A great story for all
Revisado: 10-02-21
I’m 43 years old and enjoyed this book. A good fairytale with a good ending. I’m not one who likes open ended stories or un-happy endings, this book is not either of that. I love it when the author ties everything together. If course not everything can be happy, but it’s as it should be (talking about the ending). The story kept me engaged and entertained. Give it a try.

Meh, I’m missing the older books
Revisado: 08-31-21
I love Pendergast and look forward to every new book written, but this series is loosing it’s touch for me. I think the narrator did a great job on Pendergast’s voice, but not on the others. I think he’s a good storyteller just didn’t choose the right voice for some. It doesn’t help that this story wasn’t great. Normally Child & Preston tell such an intricate story that you have to read it twice. This one held my interest, but the ending just didn’t execute the story. Cold moon got on my nerves with his constant complaining. I’m disappointed in this one

Just not a good book
Revisado: 06-11-21
I normally listen to this kind of subject but this was trash. I don’t why the author decided to make all her characters sound ignorant with the broken down english as a new language, but it just made it even harder to enjoy. It worked my nerves. I hate I have a need to finish a book I started because it’s a complete waste of time.

Historia
Names and faces he thought he'd left behind in Liverpool resurface in London, bringing Felix far more trouble than he'd anticipated. Childhood memories, family traumas, sins old and new, and a council estate that was meant to be a modern utopia until it turned into something like hell.... These are just some of the sticks life uses to beat Felix Castor with, as things go from bad to worse for London's favorite freelance exorcist. See, Castor's stepped over the line this time, and he knows he'll have to pay. The only question is: How much?
