Historia
Colonel Joe Bishop made a promise and he's going to keep it; taking the captured alien starship Flying Dutchman back out. He doesn't agree when the UN decides to send almost 70 elite Special Operations troops, hotshot pilots, and scientists with him; the mission is a fool's errand he doesn't expect to ever return from. At least, this time, the Earth is safe, right? Not so much.

Made it through the book - Had some great parts
Revisado: 01-02-18
Loved the core plot of this book. Thought it was great. Had some problems though.
1. Car ride was waaayy too long. Could have cut 80% of it.
2. Joe and Skippy arguing back and forth too much. It really distracts from a great story. Brief portions of their dialog are really great and almost make up for the repetitive conversations.

Very funny!! Loved it.
Revisado: 11-21-16
Great book. Very funny.
I loved the beginning and the middle. 5 out of 5 stars. 4 out of 5 for the end.
My gripe was the end was filled with so much meaningless monologuing that I found myself pressing the fast forward button a lot because I knew what they were going to say before it was said.
Also I really am baffled by a lot of the things that could have been done that were not done because the characters didn't think of it. Time travel was allowed but no one really used it at all. Or for example, the bad guy punishment was extremely lame and error prone. Makes no sense. if u have in custody a demented mass murderer, what would u do with him??

There's a reason We Are Legion was named Audible's Best Science Fiction Book of 2016: Its irresistibly irreverent wit! Bob Johansson has just sold his software company for a small fortune and is looking forward to a life of leisure. The first item on his to-do list: Spending his newfound windfall. Entertaining with great characters that are slightly annoying.
Revisado: 11-18-16
Great book. Finished it quickly and how to me hooked. Entertaining all the way through. The beginning was the most entertaining though. Found it sometimes difficult on the audiobook to keep track of the different Bobs. And the only other gripe I have about the book is that The human race was really made out to be a bunch of idiots. Although that may be true, it made the book annoying perhaps because I don't want it to be true.

Enjoyable. I plan on listening to it again.
Revisado: 12-14-11
This book describes the history of discoveries concerning "Where we have come from" up to present day. Enjoyed the honesty of Bill Bryson. Heard the words: "We just don't know" about 50 times throughout the book. I liked hearing that because it's true. A lot of science books don't say this.
I am a Christian and didn't sense any ill feeling from the author concerning God.

Historia
The periodic table is one of the most potent icons in science. It lies at the core of chemistry and embodies the most fundamental principles of the field. The one definitive text on the development of the periodic table by van Spronsen (1969), has been out of print for a considerable time. The present book provides a successor to van Spronsen, but goes further in giving an evaluation of the extent to which modern physics has, or has not, explained the periodic system. The book is written in a lively style to appeal to experts and interested lay-persons alike.

Good. But too boring/dry for me.
Revisado: 12-14-11
I am interested in this subject, but (in my opinion) this is a very boring book. I was hoping for a little more stories to liven things up. In my opinion this book does not belong in audio format. Performance was as good as it could be.
