Informative but not riveting

it was informative but it took me a very very long time to get through it because it dragged on. I wasn't riveted by the story or narration. perhaps it was because of the fact that the Civil War such an enormous topic, but it was definitely more of a wide view rather than an in-depth view.

I thought Emma Thompson did a good job. Didn't much like the book though. They focused a lot on the children's beauty, and for me, that detracted from, rather than added to, the story.
