This was very raw and vulnerable. I would have never believed she experienced racism to the point where she almost questioned her identity. it was very inspiring.

Whitney Huston didn't deserve any of the treatments she was experienced. she was exploited and treated badly . Bobby Brown is trash and it's said how her daughter also died the same way.

she was very vulnerable and open in this book. I'm happy she was able to tell her story and help others.

This book was basically a memoir for me, minus a few things. I can fully relate to the story of having this condition while living in a very Christian house. I too had to learn that shame was instilled in us to keep us stuck, and that can make us feel alienated.I had to battle not just living in a Christian house but constant sexual assault and feeling like that's all men wanted from me. Growing up, I did not see any examples of good men, and as such, I have been scared of them and their ways. As a black woman living in Jamaica, that means the resources were as limited as they could be, and I had to depend on Google and figure out ways to navigate the situation. It makes you so stuck because people make you feel as if this isn't real or something is wrong with you, and male doctors are the worst to go to about these things. I am happy that this story told a story. I wish I had had this story when I was going through my situation, but I'm still so happy to know that it is receiving more recognition. The book was well written and narrated.

I'm goingto try my best to explain how this book gave me a different perspective. This book talks about what happens after death and what we need to do in this life to work towards a bigger picture. The author goes into detail and explains everything in the best way she possibly can. I don't know how to describe it, but some of it made sense to me, and it felt like the knowledge was digestible for the most part ''if you're open to it".The simplest way to decide all of this is that we are all part of a system; we are all working together for a greater cause, and you should not stop learning when you die. The body is just a physical plain of existence we have to endure to learn and grow. We are indeed in charge and co-creators of our destiny. The Devil is a way of not taking accountability for your actions. I was never big on the region due to personal reasons, but I like the way she talked about Jesus and how she incorporated religion into the mix. This book is worth reading and definitely makes me interested in exploring the topic.

Please be aware that if you are easily triggered, this book is not for you; otherwise, I think the book is quite interesting. Ellen, the main character, has gone through so much and is really just discombobulated, so there isn't really much character building in regards to her because she's really abused. It's like any real psychological thriller, just more detail in terms of SA and/or R@pe.

I like that this story was a bit of a slow burn, but I think it's really worth the journey.
