I wish i would have found this book sooner, but when i did find it, it felt like an exhale for the breath I had been holding since the day my ex left. It was honey for my sore throat, and tissues for my stinging eyes. I kept revisiting it, even a year after my breakup. I actively started to notice how my thoughts have changed over time. I actively observed how I was healing.

Thank you, Whitney. For helping me remember that I am my home.

I found this book after a breakup, and was immediately intrigued by the title. Using the SOP workbook alongside this audiobook, I truly felt ready to embrace being single instead of crying in my popcorn.

It gives you actionable steps to take, which I love.

When I first listened to this book, I was in a pretty dark place. My therapist recommended it at the time, and upon first listen, I was like, “Seriously? How is this going to help me not want to die?”

But as I listened to the content and looked past the tone of voice and general condescension, I found what I was looking for, ultimately, taking what was helpful and disregarding the rest.

I love Nicole’s approach to money, and to someone who was new to getting better with money when I got this book, it really helped me prioritize not only my financial goals, but my life and career goals.

I really like this book for a lot of reasons: It’s extremely practical. It breaks down exactly what you’d find if you got the YNAB app and actually paid for a subscription.

It doesn’t shame you for your money choices, and I think that’s something we need more of in the PF space.

We need more empowerment and less shame around money and personal finance, and this book delivers that.

It is exactly what I wish I had learned back in highschool or even college, when the resounding advice was just “Go to college so you can get a good job”.

I soon realized I had to figure out my own priorities: And this book helped tremendously. It gets to the root of emotional spending instead of just telling you that you’re bad with money and need to cut back on lattes.
