Historia
Deftly written and utterly addictive, this Western literary horror debut will find a home with fans of authors like Joe Hill, Cormac McCarthy, and Anne Rice. One night in 1980, a man becomes a monster. Haunted by his past, Travis Stillwell spends his nights searching out women in West Texas honky-tonks. What he does with them doesn't make him proud, just quiets the demons for a little while. But after Travis crosses paths one night with a mysterious pale-skinned girl, he wakes weak and bloodied.

Historia
Victoria McQueen has an uncanny knack for finding things: a misplaced bracelet, a missing photograph, answers to unanswerable questions. When she rides her bicycle over the rickety old covered bridge in the woods near her house, she always emerges in the places she needs to be. Vic doesn't tell anyone about her unusual ability, because she knows no one will believe her. She has trouble understanding it herself.

Joe Hill- A new favorite in horror and beyond
Revisado: 11-22-21
I loved every second of this novel. Kate Mulgrew does an outstanding job of breathing life into each character. I have to admit in the beginning of this novel the potheads seemed so far-fetched I thought I might lose interest. That was definitely not the case. On more than one occasion I found myself sitting in the car after arriving home for an hour or more just to listen on. I Highly recommend this to anyone who loves to use their vivid imagination and is not afraid to explore the Darkside of sleighing!! Ho Ho Ho…🧛🏻♂️ i’d like to just throw this in there as well. I loved that Joe Hill spoke at the end of the recording and told listeners a little about his upbringing and how this influenced his career. Definitely appreciate the recommendations for future reads. I have just started Ray Bradberry‘s “Shadow Show” so stay tuned I’m sure it will be amazing.

What happened??
Revisado: 10-06-21
Started strong and was somewhat scary towards the middle. Absolutely terrible ending. It’s like the author ran out of ink or something. It made no sense and felt very rushed. At first I thought it had been unfairly rated. I now feel it was rated appropriately.
