Historia
Before Owen Michaels disappears, he smuggles a note to his beloved wife of one year: Protect her. Despite her confusion and fear, Hannah Hall knows exactly to whom the note refers—Owen’s sixteen-year-old daughter, Bailey. Bailey, who lost her mother tragically as a child. Bailey, who wants absolutely nothing to do with her new stepmother. As Hannah’s increasingly desperate calls to Owen go unanswered, as the FBI arrests Owen’s boss, as a US marshal and federal agents arrive at her Sausalito home unannounced, Hannah quickly realizes her husband isn’t who he said he was.

good story , women are brave
Revisado: 01-24-22
I enjoyed this story very much. The characters were believable and I liked that one of the settings is Austin. The protagonist is a brave woman who makes difficult choices because they are right .
One criticism that I would have is that the author often repeats beginning of sentences in dialog. Not because it's the character's thoughts, not because it's what needs to be said, not because the story requires it. but perhaps because she gets caught up in repetition. I found this exhausting. but all and all a good story

boring
Revisado: 01-11-22
I really struggled to finish this book because of both the story (or lack of) and the narrator. The story is a huge nothing burger. The characters are neither interesting nor intriguing. The story goes nowhere and takes a very long long time to get there. The narrator had such a squeaky and at times whiney voice that it often gave me a headache if I listened for long periods of time. Many reviews mention good things about the narrator and other works she has done but not for me. I found this book irritating.

Historia
Inheriting her grandparents' island estate on Florida's Gulf coast is a special kind of homecoming for thirty-one-year-old Charity Baxter. Raised by a narcissistic single mother, Charity's only sense of a loving home comes from childhood summers spent with Gramps and Grandma. But piercing her fondest memories is her sharpest grief - the death of her beloved grandmother, when Charity stopped believing in the magical healing power of the weeping willow that still casts a shadow on their property.

Historia
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

not for women over 30
Revisado: 08-15-18
I am in my 50s and always interested in hearing people's success stories. i normally can stay with a book to the end but not this one. i only got to the 10th chapter and couldnt deal with the lame" try to be humorous" tone and the awful narration. I had to return this book .It was full of bubblegum , fluff and too many "bless your hearts" . Maybe more suited for teen or tween reading.

inspiring story
Revisado: 10-19-16
this is an inspiring story however it was difficult for me to finish as an audio book. the authors narration does not tell her story as her voice is child like and her pronunciation of some words was annoying. I found myself not wanting to listen but interested enough to want to know the outcome. probably a better read.
