Interesting story and great narration
Revisado: 02-16-22
This was an interesting story of romance and time travel. Parts brought me to tears and there was an unexpected plot twist, that some reviewers spoiled. The moral of the story, being true to yourself and not wasting time in your pursuit of happiness was so apropos for the times in which we live. The narrator did a fabulous job in expressing the emotion that the characters felt and his skill in doing so was why I was brought to tears. I really enjoyed it and listened straight through.

Historia
Pinky, a young college student with a tortured past, is learning to live her life in a "normal" way because she prefers to not stand out in a crowd. While earning extra credit for her history class at the local Renaissance Faire, Pinky finds her present existence and her past memories melding together as her mind interweaves tales of Pinky's long-ago life.

Great story and great narration

Was a little unsure about a male narrator reading the female protagonist, but it was so good I forgot all about it. The story took me a second to get me into it, but once it did I couldn't stop listening. So glad book 2 and 3 are already out! I will be listening to more Victoria Clapton and hope Matthew R. Lents narrates for her in the future!

Historia
Samson and Beyah have nothing in common on the surface. She comes from a life of poverty and neglect; he comes from a family of wealth and privilege. But one thing they do have in common is that they're both drawn to sad things. Which means they're drawn to each other. Beyah and Samson agree to stay in the shallow end of a summer fling. What Beyah doesn't realize is that a rip current is coming, and it's about to drag her heart out to sea.

A romance that makes you think
Revisado: 01-28-22
Loved this book. It stuck with me even after reading many more. Really made me think about preconceptions people tend to fall into while entertaining with a great love story. The voice performer was excellent. I read this book first then listened and the performer matched what I had in my head regarding the female protagonist. Highly recommend.

I desire peace; everyone desires peace. No one wants to live in dystopia; it is utopia they desire. Well, guess what, humans? A perfect world doesn’t exist. I don’t want perfection - I want it to be bearable and livable. Please tell me that is a suitable solution for you. Well, it has to be - because I refuse to give any human empty promises, for it all ends up ugly if you don’t follow through.

Interesting story and great narration
Revisado: 02-20-21
The device of time travel within the story allowed Wosar to explore many genres within the book that kept the reader interested and guessing. The narrator was fabulous using multiple accents so the listener knew which character was speaking without being told.

Historia
While Eve examines a fresh body in Washington Square Park, her husband, Roarke, spots a man among the onlookers he’s known since his younger days on the streets of Dublin. A man who claims to be his half brother. A man who kills for a living - and who burns with hatred for him. Eve is quick to suspect that the victim’s spouse - resentful over his wife’s affair and poised to inherit her fortune - would have happily paid an assassin to do his dirty work. Roarke is just as quick to warn her that if Lorcan Cobbe is the hitman, she needs to be careful.

Love Love Love when the majority of characters band together! Super fun listen/read. Great team. Both fictional characters and author, narrator, and production team.

Excellent story and fantastic narration.
Revisado: 12-02-20
This is a wonderful story about growing up, learning from one's mistakes and learning to listen to people who have already been in the shoes of the young boy. The story included many life lessons translatable to most any current day situation. The narrator did a wonderful job of sliding between characters, giving them their own voices and enhancing the written personalities the author provided. This is a great title for a family listen to enhance the story and life lessons with your own.
