Gandhi had an incredible life. So this book gives much insight into his thinking as well as the political and social lives of South Africa and India. The narrator speaks very clearly.

I especially liked his analysis of the link between Zionism and white supremacy. He explained why victims can become victimizers, an especially relevant issue in Israel and Palestinian conflict. Coates brilliantly combined his personal experiences from his recent trip to the Mideast with historical research.

Covers many factors of the Basque history, language, politics, cuisine, personality, arts, etc. Great stories. Written by a master story teller. Top flight narrator. Highly recommended.

I read this book many years ago & was delighted to find it available on Audible. I "re-read" it again by listening to it this time. Since I am older now & and married, I was surprised that the stories of these couples made even more sense to me now. I appreciate how the Blooms captured the "secrets" of great marriages. I understood it even more the second time around. It is so worth the "read."

Unexamined Myths & Assumptions keep running us

Having been a long time fan of Linda & Charles Bloom & having read all their previous books including "Happily Ever After..." . I was delighted to listen to the audiable version. It didn't disappoint me either. After I listened to the Audible version of their book, I saw how I was still run by some unexamined myths and assumptions in my relationship with my husband & with other men. I immediately recognized my assumption & myth. I could now choose to do something different, which I did. It's great to find a book that keeps informing me anew each time I read it. Thanks for writing such a provocative book that keeps living & growing each time I read it.

Michael Lewis strikes again. A brilliant analysis of how youth sports is yet another example of how the American system is stacked in favor of the wealthy and against the less well off. Yet it's told entertainingly through God's personal experiences as a parent of a child softball star.

Each of these stories grabbed me. The characters, the writing style, the plots. What impressed me the most was that each story was so distinctively different. Highly recommended if you enjoy great tales, well told.

Thoroughly enjoyable, though brief, autobiiography of the world-famous cellist. Mixes music with his story which makes it even more interesting. I especially like the chapter on Argentinian and Brazilian music. Shows how Ma is more than a classical musical virtuoso. He talks very informally and conversationally in relating his story.

Best inside story on slavery

The author related very specifically how being enslaved feels. She is an acute observer of white people and their hypocrisy. Plus it's a dramatic story. Hard to imagine hiding out in a small attic room for 7 years. Illustrates just how horrible living in slavery was. Highly recommended. I found this book more powerful than 12 Years a Slave, which is also a fabulous book.

Author visits several sites of slavery, including Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, and reflects on its legacy in our collective memory. Absolutely brilliant observations, very heartfelt as a Black man. Unfortunately his staccato delivery mars the performance. Would have been so much better with a professional actor.
