Historia
Allie Garvey is heading home to the funeral of a childhood friend. Allie is not only grief-stricken, she's full of dread. Because going home means seeing the other two people with whom she shares an unbearable secret. Twenty years earlier, a horrific incident shattered the lives of five teenagers, including Allie. Drinking and partying in the woods, they played a dangerous prank that went tragically wrong. The teenagers kept what happened a secret, believing that getting caught would be the worst thing that could happen. But time has taught Allie that not getting caught was far worse.

A Little slow starting…
Revisado: 08-16-23
This starts a little slow and I was a tad confused at some of the protagonist’s relationships and reactions, but it starts moving and coming together at the end. Enjoyable read!

Historia
Merritt Coletto and her husband, Luca, have the life they dreamed of: a coastal home, a promising future, and a growing family. That dream ends with a late-night knock on the door. Weak, broken, and emaciated, it’s Luca’s first wife, Lydia. Missing for ten years, presumed dead, and very much alive, she has quite a story. Racked with guilt over the beautiful life they’ve built, Merritt and Luca agree to help get Lydia back on her feet - it’s the least they can do. But the more enmeshed Lydia becomes in Merritt’s family, the more questions Merritt has.

Not the best Dean Koontz
Revisado: 05-24-23
This was by far down at the bottom two of my Dean Koontz novels.
Maybe it was the narrator that was not the best on this book. I felt I was riding a wave. Tone goes up..tone goes down..tone goes up….
All in all, I’d pick another of one Koontz novels. Any others are excellent!

Once a rising star in the art world, she finds refuge in her painting. The neighboring island of Ringrock houses a secret: a government research facility. And now two agents have arrived on Jacob’s Ladder in search of someone—or something—they refuse to identify. Although an air of menace hangs over these men, an infinitely greater threat has arrived, one so strange even the island animals are in a state of high alarm.

I’m a Big Fan of Dean Koontz and have been reading his novels since the 70s. I’ve only had one other I’ve not enjoyed besides The House at the End of the World. This one just didn’t do it for me.

A bit confusing
Revisado: 12-08-18
I love Jack Reacher as he has a line of right and wrong.
However, I felt that he was more vicious and serial killer mode than right and wrong. Maybe I missed it but I felt he was killing people before he ever really knew the story.
Maybe I need to read it again but I just didn’t feel this story measured up to previous Reacher stories.

Historia
Lucas Davenport had crossed paths with her before. A rich psychopath, Taryn Grant had run successfully for the US Senate, where Lucas had predicted she'd fit right in. He was also convinced that she'd been responsible for three murders, though he'd never been able to prove it. Once a psychopath had gotten that kind of rush, though, he or she often needed another fix, so he figured he might be seeing her again. He was right.

What a wonderful story
Revisado: 01-30-18
I’m not one to do actual book reviews but rather say how I felt about it.
Having never been much on period novels, I was hesitant to read this since based in 1699.
However, I believe this is one of the best books I’ve read in many years.
Full of surprises, emotions and humor should make this a ‘Must Read’ in one’s library.
