Historia
Solstice, the secret organization running the Galactic Union, has made an enemy of The Last Horizon. Soon, they will regret it. Varic and Omega have a plan to infiltrate and destroy Solstice’s leaders, removing another threat to the galaxy. Compared to the apocalyptic monsters the crew has faced in the past, this opponent should be simple.

Difficulty getting harder, but more ultimates are in the sleeves!
Revisado: 07-08-25
Albeit I like the other Will's worlds more, this very comixy blend of magic and technology is a nice dose of for me nevertheless. Not much emotions soaked into the characters from me, which is fine if I take it as a entertaining pastime, like a sitcom.

Historia
In 2019, author John Green met Henry Reider, a young tuberculosis patient at Lakka Government Hospital in Sierra Leone. John became fast friends with Henry, a boy with spindly legs and a big, goofy smile. In the years since that first visit to Lakka, Green has become a vocal advocate for increased access to treatment and wider awareness of the healthcare inequities that allow this curable, preventable infectious disease to also be the deadliest, killing over a million people every year. In Everything Is Tuberculosis, John tells Henry’s story.

Cataclysmic & apocalyptic, epic as always, packed with action
Revisado: 06-30-25
Epic plot twists, intriguing power combinations and oddities. From all the series so far the most action scenes.
The mental diversity of characters is expanding even more, LDS author introducing a gay character - great! Homosexuality is still introduced in a sort of stereotypical setting, albeit its exactly this which most of the people like that experienced in history, I hope that there will be a planet that homosexuality will be just normal.
The characters and their inner world especially still feels a bit naive, fairytale like for me. They are very sophisticated make no mistake, but its like reading examples from a textbook sort of. I can see the LDSs sort of "material, surface level" morality and world-view (albeit Sanderson even explores this theme in this book I think, but the foundation is still material-based). This clearly manifests in the Cosmere cosmology and very physical and quantitative image of godhood. Maybe Brandon even imagine, in agreement with his faith, that after death and well lived life (according to LDS scripts) he will create his own worlds. There is always a hint for the Almighty another level of godhood in the books too and I like how the worldview expands and changes with every next book, who knows what will be phenomenology of reality in the end of this masterwork series?
Nevertheless, Brandon Sanderson remains one of the most talented and prolific authors of today and I wish many more books on his account and many other good he does too - he is one of the person testifying the good not only through his work, but his life also.

Acknowledge and prepare for death now and your life will be better. For me, I don't fear death that much as I mourn the years or life I blown away, even I have a choice (and the choice is sometimes really hard to bear).

Historia
The Bobiverse is a different place in the aftermath of the Starfleet War, and the days of the Bobs gathering in one big happy moot are far behind. There’s anti-Bob sentiment on multiple planets, the Skippies playing with an AI time bomb, and multiple Bobs just wanting to get away from it all. But it all pales compared to what Icarus and Daedalus discover on their 26,000-year journey to the center of the galaxy.

Ha-Joon Chang explains how the global economy works and why anyone can understand the dismal science. Historia
Governments today in both Europe and the United States have succeeded in casting government spending as reckless wastefulness that has made the economy worse. In contrast, they have advanced a policy of draconian budget cuts - austerity - to solve the financial crisis. We are told that we have all lived beyond our means and now need to tighten our belts. This view conveniently forgets where all that debt came from. Not from an orgy of government spending, but as the direct result of bailing out, recapitalizing, and adding liquidity to the broken banking system.

Why do so many of us stop learning new skills as adults? Are we afraid to be bad at something? Have we forgotten the sheer pleasure of beginning from the ground up? Inspired by his young daughter’s insatiable curiosity, Tom Vanderbilt embarks on a yearlong quest of learning - purely for the sake of learning. Rapturously singing Spice Girls songs in an amateur choir, losing games of chess to eight-year-olds, and dodging scorpions at a surf camp in Costa Rica, Vanderbilt tackles five main skills, but learns so much more.

Historia
There is a vast class of things that science has so far almost entirely neglected. They are central to the understanding of physical reality both at an everyday level and at the level of the most fundamental phenomena in physics, yet have traditionally been assumed to be impossible to incorporate into fundamental scientific explanations. They are facts not about what is (the actual) but about what could be (counterfactuals).
