Wonderful performance
Revisado: 11-29-23
Wonderful performances which helps one become immersed in the story. Stoker could have taken out the entire half of the book and it would be more interesting.

Historia
The Strange Death of Europe is a highly personal account of a continent and culture caught in the act of suicide. Declining birth rates, mass immigration, and cultivated self-distrust and self-hatred have come together to make Europeans unable to argue for themselves and incapable of resisting their own comprehensive alteration as a society and an eventual end.

Necessary and vital

Great book. Narrator is good, although taking on many accents suddenly takes one out of the book. Little annoying, but great content.

Historia
Free speech is the bedrock of all our liberties, and yet in recent years, it has come to be mistrusted. A new form of social justice activism, which perceives language as potentially violent, has prompted a national debate on where the limitations of acceptable speech should be drawn. Governments throughout Europe have enacted 'hate speech' legislation to curb the dissemination of objectionable ideas, Silicon Valley tech giants are collaborating to ensure that they control the limitations of public discourse, and campaigners in the US are calling for revisions to the First Amendment.

Okay
Revisado: 02-28-21
If you have listened to Doyle on TV and online, then there is nothing new in this book. It is a regurgitation of the usual talking points that have been put forward recently ad nauseum.
If you are new to this topic, then you will love it and it will open your eyes, but there is little new here in this very brief book.

Good book, fast reading
Revisado: 10-15-19
Great book. Too much to take in, the fast reading makes it exhausting and not so fun. Reader needs to slow down and actually read what is being said as opposed to just reading words mechanically. Too fast to digest.

Feel good platitudes
Revisado: 09-08-19
Paint-by-numbers, feel good pop-psychology parables told by wealthy narcissists who got lucky. It has interviews with rich folk in the self-help industry and the more you listen to them the more inhuman they sound, like they are all reading from the same "how to speak self-help" books.

Annoyingly performed. Raising ones voice doesn’t mean passion. It just means you’re talking loudly.

A man full of himself has no room for knowledge
Revisado: 01-13-18
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
If he lost the anchor man tone it might have made it more personable.
What aspect of Dan Harris’s performance would you have changed?
All of it. It's not a news bite, it's an audiobook.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Clarity.
Any additional comments?
Massive a-hole, full of himself, rational, skeptical and surprisingly ignorant. No genuine depth of understanding, ADD coke-head with a desperate need to get attention from his doctor parents that were probably too busy to pay attention to him as a child.
