Her name is Frances Deegan. She wrote 21 stories and 35 articles under her own name for the science fiction pulps between 1944 and 1952, when few other women were selling to them at all. Yet you won't find her listed in any book about science fiction. In fact, in the years since her death, Frances Deegan has become the forgotten woman of the golden age of pulp science fiction, and none of her stories have ever been reprinted.

Pink Winds, Green Cats, Radiant Rocks & Other Classics by the Forgotten Woman of Science Fiction's Golden Age
This was the first science-fiction audiobook I listened to, but I was not disappointed. The stories were written by Frances Deegan in the 1940s and 1950s.
The stories were well constructed. I loved hearing about the zeitgeist of the post-WW II era. How magical, for instance, electricity still seemed to be. And the things the male characters said to the females. They would get slapped for saying these things in the current age.
The narrator did a great job. I enjoyed listening to his performance.
I would definitely recommend this book. The stories are well-written, exciting and they offer a fresh new perspective on the world. And no, electricity does not come out of a stone, but what a magical world it would be if it did.

He likes the very back booth in the diner, walls on two sides, both of us on the same bench, me in the corner. At 29, almost five years younger than I am, he likes me to - he requires me to - call him Daddy; he calls me his Dirty Little Girl. This is insane; or depraved; or sick; or...all of the above. And here we sit. I surrendered my panties before we left the apartment, just a block away - a simple transaction, nothing terribly new or different for us. He requested; I rolled my eyes. I complied; he something between smiled and smirked.

A Backdoor Erotic Romance: Where Does Love Go?
by Joy Zelig
First of all, sorry I have no names of the characters for you in this review. I have trouble remembering character names and usually pick them up from the blurb or from other reviews, but there were none at the time of writing.
Let's continue. The story is about a woman, I think 34 years old who lives with her Master who is 29 years old. She calls him Daddy, and she is his Little Girl. That is all the reference there is to age play in the story. He is definitely her Dominant, and she obeys him in every way. In the course of the story, he has one more request for his submissive: he wants to use a passage that has not been used before, hence the name 'Backdoor Romance.' The story conveys how they get closer and closer to this goal.
I loved the style of the story. It was poetic, most of all. It had lots of repetition in the sentences and phrasings and in a right way. It added to the overall slow, sexy scene of the tale. There were a few jumps in the narrative which were sometimes confusing, but never annoying.
The story has one major flaw for me: the ending. I can't really describe it without giving it all away, but let's say it was...unsatisfying. I was quite frustrated.
The narrator has done a great job narrating this story. Her voice was dark and luscious and a perfect match for the story.
Overall I enjoyed listening to this erotic tale. It had the right mood, and it was a definite turn-on. Be warned for the ending, but in all other ways, I recommend this book.

Schooled to Obey: Lily's Training (Book 1) - Devi Ansevi
To me, this book felt like a breath of fresh air. It was fun, the story moved fast, and the sex was intense. Even the historical setting was well done. I believed the story from beginning to end.
'Schooled to Obey' dealt with Lily. She is a governess, but the children in the household have grown up and are no longer in need of her care and instruction. Unfortunately, her mother has fallen ill and is in need of full-time care. Her employer Lady Montgomery has a proposal: Lily will have to spend two nights a week fulfilling her Lady's desires, while in return the Lady will make sure Lily's mother receives the care she needs. Lily agrees and is sent away to Lord Harcourt for training. In his training, Lily discovers many things about her own sexuality she had not yet uncovered. He stretches her limits, but never too far.
The descriptions of the sexual acts are very hot. The only scene that was slightly off-putting was the first anal sex scene. That went a tad too fast, but in the story, it didn't matter. It sure turned me on, and that was the point of this novella. I loved the diversity of the characters, I believed the story and I never once got bored.
I loved the narration by Rose Lachlan. She definitely was Lily in my mind. She did a good job narrating the male voices. I give her five stars for how she narrated the servant girl Mollie. She just nailed the accent. I couldn't help but smile at her exclamations.
All in all, 'Schooled to Obey' is a hot short novella that's filled with sex and fun. What else could you wish for? The writing is good, the narration is perfect. The ending of the story was kinda sudden, but it made for a good bridge to the second book in the series. I'm certain I want to read more by Devi Ansevi. Just listen to this book and see why I enjoyed it so much.

Damned If You Do: A BDSM Dance With The Devil
by Lisabet Sarai
Wow. Five minutes in, I was already smiling because the situation was so recognizable, being an author myself. That smile returned many times throughout listening to the audiobook version of this story. It was so well written.
'Damned if you do' is about Wendy Dennison, a struggling author who gets the deal of her life: all the success she has ever dreamed of in exchange for her soul. The handsome demon who offers her the deal certainly keeps up his end of the deal, and soon the money is pouring in. But is this what she wanted? Does having all the money and success satisfy all that she craved?
I cannot answer these questions without giving away too much of the story, and that would be a shame because it really is a perfect story. The writing is intelligent, witty, captivating and believable, even in this setting. The ending too is believable and everything I could have wished for.
The narrator Audrey Lusk is amazing, the best I've ever heard. Every character had his own voice, and even the male characters were so believable. And she even dared to moan at the appropriate times, something I often miss with other narrators.
This is definitely a 5* book. I was sorry it was over so soon, though the ending was perfect for the story. All I can do is listen to it again and recommend this book to everyone. It doesn't matter if you've listened to paranormal erotica before or not, just listen to this one. I promise you'll love it.

'Master May I', when a slave is not so slave-like
Revisado: 02-08-18
'Master May I' - Shawna Hunter
'Master May I' by Shawna Hunter tells the story of Alyssa K., who I had encountered before in 'Submission Backstory: Memoir of a BDSM Authoress.' I had enjoyed that novella a lot, so I was eager to listen to this book to learn more about Alyssa.
Alyssa K. is a journalist who moved to Brookes Hollow and is very interested in the BDSM lifestyle. So far she had tried several things with different people, but she had not yet committed to one person. That changes when she meets the town sheriff, the handsome Darius. Alyssa decides that she wants to try a submissive lifestyle and gives herself to Darius as his slave. Then Wendy comes into her life as the town drunk who has lost her grasp of life the moment she lost her legs. It turns out that she used to a Dominant in Brookes Hollow and had actually taught Darius the ins and outs of BDSM. Alyssa and Wendy get involved in a relationship of their own which leads to an intriguing threeway relationship between Darius, Wendy, and Alyssa.
There were many things I did not like about this book and most of all Alyssa. My main issue was that I did not believe her. I did not believe that she wanted to be a submissive, let alone a slave. She was topping from the bottom the whole time, asking inappropriate questions and making assumptions, the wrong assumptions. I did not believe how she submitted to Wendy so quickly. It was like her adoration was instant. Now I am not too familiar with worship-play, but I did not feel like this level of adoration was credible after they had spent maybe twice half an hour together. I did not care for the other characters that were dragged into the story, in the beginning, the deputy sheriff and his wife. There were many sex scenes with them, but it just didn't move me much. They also sort of disappeared from the story at one point, never to be mentioned again and to be replaced with Elisabeth, the character from 'Their Wild Little Girl.'
The thing I like best about this book? The ending. And no, that's not because I was glad it was over, but because that's when the characters made sense to me. They felt like real people who dealt well with a difficult situation. I believed the last twenty minutes of the book. And of course, the setting of the story and the characterization of the different characters was good as always. If it's one thing that Shawna Hunter does well, it's bringing characters to life and giving them their own life story.
The narrator Kalinda Little did a good job, though I was not too pleased with her portrayal of Darius, that's often the case when a female has to portray a male character. She was the perfect embodiment of Alyssa, and I liked her as Wendy as well.
Overall I was disappointed by this book. I had really expected a lot, especially now that it's a nominee for the Golden Flogger Awards. The sex scenes were okay, but not really more than that. I like Alyssa, but it took a long time for her to find her place and to be comfortable in her own submissive skin. I felt sorry for Wendy, but at least I believed her the whole way through. And Darius, well, I never got that real 'Dom-vibe' from him, but I suppose he found his way in the end. And maybe in that sense, it was a more realistic BDSM book than most. After all, not all slaves kneel at the first command.

Domina Brookes was never going to have a normal life. Given a dominant's title for her legal name by a man-hating domme (who happens to be both the mayor and mommy dearest), fate just seemed to be against her. All her life she's been groomed as heir apparent, but Domina has always rejected her mother's world. First, she tried to ignore it, and then, when she couldn't turn away, she tried to hide. Locking herself up tight in the house her mother gave her, Domina hasn't stepped outside in years. That, of course, doesn't sit well with Domina's mother.

The Domme's Daughter: A Touch Too Real by Shawna Hunter
This book is unlike any book I had ever encountered before. It led me to all sorts of emotions: arousal, anxiety, anger and even shock. I don't want to give any spoilers, but I'll try to describe what I can.
Domina Brookes is the daughter of the major of Brookes Fields. She grew up as a happy child and led a normal life all into her teenage years. It was then that she suffered a trauma that led her to shut out the outer world and become extremely agoraphobic. Her mother supplies her with a house and takes care of her needs in her life as a hermit.
One day Domina meets an online friend, Admire-her-1. She gets into a relationship with this boy, and that is when things start to change. I cannot explain more without giving too much away.
Overall it is a great book. I did not expect this ending, not in the slightest. I guessed something was up, but not this. The book led me through all the emotions I mentioned in the first paragraph. The ending was good, somewhat satisfactory, just with a slightly bitter taste.
I listened to the Audible version, and while the narrator did a great job, I did not like the fact that she seemed so old. Domina is a twenty-one-year-old girl, and this speaker sounded like she was at least thirty years older than that. She did a good job with separate voices for the different characters.
I would recommend this book to anyone with even a mild interest in BDSM, though it's not for the faint-hearted. There are some cases of abuse mentioned that made me raise my eyebrows, but nothing was too much. The pace of the story is excellent. All characters are believable, apart from Domina's reason for the agoraphobia. I did not really get that part, but I could ignore my doubts about that because the rest is just so good. Basically: everyone should read or listen to this book!

Lots of sex, just didn't care enough for the story
Revisado: 11-20-17
It's not often that I feel so conflicted about writing a review. I received a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review, so I suppose I have to be honest. I certainly enjoyed 'Their Wild Little Girl' by Shawna Hunter, but it took me ages to get through the book, and that's usually not a very good sign. Here's what I liked and didn't like about the book.
I liked the story, the setting and the style of writing. I want to stress that the book is well written. The characters are multi-layered. The writing itself is of a high quality. The world is believable. The setting is original and not what you expect to see in a BDSM book.
I did not care for the characters. Marcus and Jessica both are not characters I would root for. I was not emotionally involved with any of them. Marcus was way too indecisive. He had long, long speeches about what road to pursue and how he did not want to hurt the two girls. He wasn't hurting them, and they had both long ago consented to whatever he wanted to do, so all this could have been scrapped in my opinion. Jessica was okayish, she was more of a friend to Elizabeth, which was nice.
Elizabeth was annoying. Even with her background of growing up alone in the jungle, she was too childish until the end. The child-like impersonation by the voice-actress, who perfectly portrayed what was written, took me out of the scene often.
What bothered me the most was the lack of development or conflict. After only a few pages, or minutes in my case, the three of them had settled into this new relationship, and it stayed that way until the end, with a small change of dynamics in the final chapters. Most of the book consisted of a long stream of sex scenes. Good sex scenes in different situations, but still sex scenes. I loved the pony play and role play scenes, but it didn't change the story in any way. Elizabeth evolved a little bit, but not too much.
I wish I had better things to say about this story. I love the idea and how it is set in the world. Maybe if the sex scenes work for you, this is a book for you. To my regret, it turned out not to be for me. I will not listen to it again.

Great Story, Not So Great Ending
Revisado: 09-26-17
Alyssa is a lifestyle journalist who's on the road to cover a story about Elisabeth who mysteriously reappeared after having been missing for years. In the hotel Alyssa is staying at, she comes across David. This is an attractive, confident 21-year-old. One thing leads to another, and David promises her a story that might be even more compelling than the Elisabeth tale. In David's opinion, however, he deems it better the journalist should experience for herself, the scope of actions he wants to expose. This, in turn, leads to Alyssa being thrown into the world of BDSM. She will never be the same.
Overall this is a relatively short audiobook, but with some of the hottest sex scenes that I have heard so far. David is a strict Dom who is very capable of introducing BDSM to a novice. Alyssa also has interactions with her colleague Jane which turn into hot F/f scenes. The sex is great in this book. It's vivid and well-described.
There are two things that I don't like so much. Alyssa is married to Ken, so ever from the first interactions with David, she is aware of the fact that she is now cheating on her husband. Fine. I am not against adultery in fiction per se, and I'm not triggered by it, but please don't repeat it two hundred times in the same story. Every ten minutes in story time she has to feel bad that she has now cheated on her husband, but it feels so good, and she doesn't want it to stop. Her issues with it bothered me more than the act by itself.
The second thing I didn't like was the last couple of pages. The ending seemed rushed and not entirely believable. I won't spoil it here. Let's just say that I wasn't convinced that this was a viable solution for the journalist.
The voice acting was amazing! I never once doubted the narrator. I believed she was Alyssa from start to finish.
Overall this is a book that I will definitely recommend to others. The story was overall well-written and gripped me from the first scene. The author Shawna Hunter apparently has more stories set in this world, and I have become curious about those stories. This novella has left me wanting for more.

Wall Street Domme: 'Do Me'
Revisado: 09-20-17
Wall Street Domme
Marilyn is a hardworking sexless woman. Her mother taught her from an early age that sex was wrong and should only be used for procreation. She has a figure like a stick-figure with small breasts and has never received any interest from boys. She wasn't interested in them either. Her father pushed her hard, and she completed two degrees in business and economics. She ended up as a successful trader on Wall Street. She didn't feel as if anything was lacking from her life. Her work was enough.
One day she is introduced to Avalon, a service that promises to help her, in any way possible. Marilyn goes for an appointment and ends up with a form of sex therapy. She reaches her first orgasm.
From there the story escalates into a string of meetings with men and women, all helping to develop Marilyn's sexual development.
The book was well-written but could have done with some more editing. I feel like some scenes should have been cut or at least shortened. It wouldn't have hurt the story if we had a few fewer characters and storylines. I didn't listen to all of it in one go, so I sometimes lost track of who was who. Marilyn's character was well-developed. I believed her and the choices she made. This is going to sound funny regarding an erotica book, but sometimes there was too much sex. Every scene had to contain a naked character one way or another. It could have done with a little bit less. Oh, and one pet peeve of mine: during the first scenes Marilyn asks for her sexual partner to 'do her.' That's fine; it sounds cute. But even in the final scenes, this is still going on. By then it's no longer cute, merely pathetic. Just say it like it is, woman.
The voice-actress was amazing. No matter how erotic the scene was, she sounded completely in character. She used a different accent for all the characters. She made the sex scenes extra arousing.
Wall Street Domme is a book that will not bore you. It contains many sex scenes, and some are very hot. The story is fast-paced, just a little confusing sometimes. Listen for yourself and learn about Marylin's transformation from Wall Street trader to Domme.

An anthology filled with many arousing stories
Revisado: 08-22-17
Dommes: Femdom Erotica
I think this is the first time in my life I ever finished an anthology. The only other times I read from an anthology was during English Literature classes, and we only read a few poems and stories then. I have never been a fan of a collection of short stories. I usually prefer one story from beginning to end. This anthology: Femmes, did grab and hold my attention.
The book comprises of many stories all dealing with a Domme. Most stories were somewhat absurd which is exactly the style I like. The stories often dealt with a new sub to be trained by an experienced Domme. Many piercings were set in the book, specifically in the perineum. There were also many 'daily whippings'.
What I didn't like was the pacing in some of the stories. A few times the major happenings, like a deflowering or a branding, happened without any leading into it. I tended to happen 'all of a sudden' because the circumstances arose. I would have made it a bigger deal with days of anticipation. I also got confused with names now and then. Sometimes I lost track of the characters or the gender of the characters. I didn't always enjoy how the voice actress told the story. Specifically, at the beginning of the book, I thought she was trying too hard to be sexy. She talked with a breathy voice which was not always appropriate or necessary. Had she just read the words, it would have been enough.
Overall I certainly enjoyed the book. I even enjoyed the story about pony play. The author has a good grasp of BDSM-dynamics, and I did find certain scenes arousing. I couldn't always listen to the book because I would have an appointment with family later and you can't be all red-eared and aroused when they come over for tea. I would recommend this book to people who are into femdom, obviously, but also people are just looking for a good erotica set. You will get value for your money with this book.
