Historia
The "maddog" murderer who is terrorizing the Twin Cities is two things: insane and extremely intelligent. He kills for the pleasure of it and thoroughly enjoys placing elaborate obstacles to keep police befuddled. Each clever move he makes is another point of pride. But when the brilliant Lieutenant Lucas Davenport, a dedicated cop and a serial killer's worst nightmare, is brought in to take up the investigation, the maddog suddenly has an adversary worthy of his genius.

the reader. the story was horrible
Revisado: 11-27-24
I only listened to this because I like Richard Ferrone as a reader. the characters were completely unlikeable, the language was ridiculous, and the overlooked crimes included minors. This book should be burned.

Republican vs. Democrat. The Haves vs. the Have Nots. Left vs. Right. Us vs. Them. We believe these are the divisions that are threatening to tear America apart. But what if the culprit isn't a political ideology or a class of people but a puppet master? He's been manipulating us for centuries–and now he’s brought us to the brink of implosion.

The truthfulness of the contents of this book
Revisado: 06-24-24
It's not easy to like something that is from the perspective of a demonic entity. However, I do appreciate the transparency this shows about spiritual warfare. I do believe cultural morality issues are a demonic plot just as this book explains. It shows you the wickedness with the other side of the political aisle and where their viewpoints originate.

I didn't like the graphic explanation of the suicides at the beginning of the book, but it has its reasons for being there.

overall good story. enjoyed the reader's acting sk
Revisado: 09-13-23
I typically enjoy most anything Ted Dekker does. John Glover really did a good job narrating it. I'm not a huge fan of how much attention the villain got in this story. it felt like it was glorifying psychotic murder. that just didn't settle well with me. but the characters and the plot overall, pretty solid work.

overall Great Story...only one issue for me
Revisado: 08-01-23
I appreciated the fact that the author didn't use foul language, which proves you can write a great story without all that garbage. likeable characters good ending.
my only gripe was too many killer rabbit trails. was Kincaid a killer too? the author led you to believe that, with rabbit trails and then ended up being a different scenario. I understand that is probably where the pawn idea comes from. But I think he could have portrayed the same idea without the amount of rabbit trails. not complaining though. good story.

The Perry family's new house is perfect - except for the weird behavior of the neighbors, and that odd smell coming from a dark corner in the basement. Pity no one warned the family about the house. Now it's too late. Because the darkness at the bottom of the basement stairs is rising.

decent story, but unnecessary parts
Revisado: 07-20-23
the story was interesting but reminded me of a rip-off of Stephen King's 1408. I rated it down because of the indecent amount and detail of gratuitous sex scenes. totally unnecessary.

decent story until...
Revisado: 06-28-23
I always find multiple personality psychological thrillers interesting. however, this one lost me about 3/4 of the way in. and I don't mean confused me. it lost me because what seemed to be a decent story with an interesting relative twist to the personalities ended up going in a same sex relationship I did not want to hear about. No foul language or anything, but I was disappointed that a decent story turned politically correct, which did absolutely nothing to enhance the story.
