Historia
September, 1940. Three women of the Checquy, the secret organization tasked with protecting Britain from supernatural threats, stand in the sky above London and see German aircraft approach. Forbidden by law to interfere, all they can do is watch as their city is bombed. Until Pamela breaks all the rules and brings down a Nazi bomber with her bare hands. The three resolve to tell no one about it, but they soon learn that a crew member is missing from the downed bomber. Charred corpses are discovered in nearby houses and it becomes apparent that the women have unwittingly unleashed a monster.

Wonderful story
Revisado: 01-15-23
This was a wonderfully woven tale of then and now with all kinds of paranormal mixed in. The narration is just wonderful. I was totally vested in all the characters. Couldn’t possibly recommend this story more.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Wonderful story of hope

I so enjoyed this book. The narration is fantastic. The backbone of this story is loss and heartbreak, but through the efforts of an incredible octopus happiness is found. I’ll never just “go” to an aquarium again.

Revisado: 03-02-21
This is the best series. So drawn into the Lizbeth Rose and Eli characters. Great and imaginative plot.
The description on Amazon is not correct. This story does pick up right after book 2 but does not follow Klementina and Eli. It follows Lizbeth as Eli has been imprisoned and she travels to the Holy Russian Empire - in San Diego to save him and his family. Felix and Felicia are back to help Lizbeth as she does the impossible to save her man.

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Emotional investment
Revisado: 11-27-18
It was impossible for me, as a girl raised in the South and a little different, not to ride the tides with Kya in this love story-murder mystery. This is a beautiful story; well written and narrated. I would have preferred a simpler end, but Kya is a complex character and I guess it would not have done her justice.

According to some (including himself), Constantine is one of the greatest heroes of dragonkin who ever lived. Too bad he's now lonelier than ever, and his biggest adventure involves a blow-up sheep - until he has an opportunity to save his kind once again. All Constantine has to do is break into a demon's dungeon, steal an ancient artifact, and reverse a deadly curse. The plan certainly does not involve rescuing a woman....

Gotta love a good dragon story
Revisado: 09-16-16
If you could sum up Dragon Storm in three words, what would they be?
Action packed with love and laughs. Who knew Constantine had depths? Who knew he could be hot? Well he's both in this story. Bee, the charmer in more ways than one, is funny. Somewhat of a cliffhanger at the end, but hey...next great story.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Bee or Gary - hard call
Which scene was your favorite?
Gary, toy robot truck, hamster ball, & brothel...
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No..too long

Historia
Delivering a rare book to a valued customer is definitely part of mild-mannered archivist Anna Whitfield's job description. You know what isn't? Protecting her precious cargo from midflight theft by the very pilot who is flying her to Half-Moon Hollow...while trying to appear as unappetizing as possible to the only other passenger, a vampire. Undead bookstore owner Jane Jameson could be waiting a very long time for her book. Possibly forever.

I wish Half-Moon Hallow were real...
Revisado: 08-23-16
Where does Where the Wild Things Bite rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Anna is hysterical and truly most people would need therapy after what she goes through in this store. Finn's re-appearance in this story after the "Single Dead Moms Club" gives the reader a chance to know him and appreciate him.
What other book might you compare Where the Wild Things Bite to and why?
I don't know if there is a comparison. I don't know if I've ever seen two characters put through so much!
What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I just love her narrations.

Great story,
Revisado: 08-23-16
Would you consider the audio edition of The Guardian's Grimoire to be better than the print version?
It's a great story. You come to care about Edward, Dylan, and Davina. The middle of the book is slow and the story is long but the beginning and ending have a lot of action. The narration is wonderful.
What did you like best about this story?
Dylan's sense of humor.
Which character – as performed by Todd Menesses – was your favorite?
Dylan

Teenage love story, wrong man, gone wrong...
Revisado: 08-23-16
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Not for me. In the first line of the book description it says a "NA paranormal fantasy"..Ok, didn't really know that NA was New Adult. What? I thought that was Young Adult? Well I'm an old adult and the book rambles on about teenage feelings, and popular vs. nerd, and I've always loved him, oh yeah and someone is a serial rapist and there are some really incompetent immortals hanging around.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
The story in the description is very interesting. This is not that story. This story is about a teenage girl who made some bad decisions and has even worse luck.
Have you listened to any of Julie McKay’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Narration was good
Did Cursed inspire you to do anything?
Never get a "NA paranormal fantasy" again

Historia
Nola Leary would have been content to stay in Kilcairy, Ireland, healing villagers at her family’s clinic with a mix of magic and modern medicine. But a series of ill-timed omens and a deathbed promise to her grandmother have sent her on a quest to Half-Moon Hollow, Kentucky, to secure her family’s magical potency for the next generation. Her supernatural task? To unearth four artifacts hidden by her grandfather before a rival magical family beats her to it. Complication One: The artifacts are lost somewhere in vampire Jane Jameson’s occult bookshop. Complication Two: Her new neighbor, Jed Trudeau, keeps turning up half-naked at the strangest times....

It's a sweet story is some nasty villians
Revisado: 01-09-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes I would.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Nola. The poor thing, she has been dealt some serious crap in her life. But Jed is a close second. I'd have a agreed with some other reviewers on this one - I do love me some Jed.
Have you listened to any of Amanda Ronconi’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes. About the same. She does a good job. I read the narration was horrible and in the beginning you wonder at Nola's voice. It does sound like an Irish accent gone bad, but then you learn that Nola was suppose to have been raised in Boston and then moved to Ireland so her voice is a combination of both. I think Amanda Ronconi got as close as possible to that.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
The scenes with her Mother made me want to beat the woman.
