not a very good narrator
Revisado: 11-23-19
I think the story would have been interesting but I couldn't get past the narrators voice.

Historia
Stone Barrington embarks on his most dangerous adventure yet when he takes on a job as a lawyer for a sleazy and clueless con man and ends up getting embroiled in the underworld of the New York mafia. It started out as just another late night at Elaine's, where Stone was eating a porterhouse steak and enjoying the company of his friends. But when Herbie Fisher, a notoriously not-so-sharp swindler, walked in, the pleasant atmosphere turned to ice.

Enought of the goofy Fisher character
Revisado: 01-13-19
I returned this to Audible. I couldn't take more than 20 minutes of the story to know that I was tired of the goofy Fisher character. Nobody could be that hapless and stupid. I like the narrator so I will keep listening. Hopefully the next book in the series will be better.

Narrator is hard to listen to
Revisado: 10-09-15
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I would recommend this book if you like a simple who-done-it. The story in the book is good but the narrator is tough to listen too. She tries hard to be southern and fails in the attempt. Her struggle to pronounce each and every word perfectly drags the story on and on. I had to forward the tape to the end to get through the last hour. If there was a different narrator I would consider listening to more books in this series.
What aspect of Teresa DeBerry’s performance would you have changed?
For her to not try so hard to be southern or not be so determined to enunciate each and every word as if she was talking to people who have difficulty understanding English.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Probably not.
