Historia
Born to Walk will help reshape fitness culture to reject flawed and dated "no pain, no gain" ideals, and replace them with a simple, accessible, sustainable program to increase general everyday movement, improve aerobic conditioning the right way, avoid the risks of injury and burnout associated with running, and promote a healthy, happy, energetic, long life–one step at a time.

Isn’t this supposed to be about walking?
Revisado: 02-16-25
This is a good book about running. The dangers of it, how high endurance athletic feats aren’t healthy, and how you’re damaging your body gradually with high intensity prolonged workouts.
And by the way, walking is good. Seriously, this book is 90% about running. Walking is a mere footnote. It seems like the aim of the book is to scare you out of running, leaving walking as the only sensible alternative.
Sisson and Kearns are very smart, do their research, and deliver a compendium of information. But to say this is a book about walking is merely a marketing scheme.

Historia
Cameron Hanes discovered his true passion for bowhunting when he was twenty. Inspired by the physical challenges of stalking elk in the Oregon wilderness—traversing mountainous terrain, braving erratic weather, and evading his quarry’s even more dangerous predators—he began an ever-evolving journey of self-improvement. To become the best bowhunter of wild elk, to the caliber he believed he could be, Cam realized he would need more than archery skills.

Boring
Revisado: 07-05-24
I’m a few hours jnto this, and can’t go on. It vacillates between being an underachieving drunk, and going into the deep woods to hunt. It’s very Goggin-esque- inspirational story about hitting high accomplishments, but at what cost? I think I could become a beast as well, but at the cost of ignoring my family. There’s not a shred of realism or balance in working during the week, then abandoning your family to sit in the woods.
As others have said, a lot of recanting of stories, but absolutely no “how-to” details getting into the nitty gritty.
