Phenomenal!

Everything about this was a 5 star experience! The voice acting and production of the audiobook was absolutely top notch. It was effortlessly funny. It was dark and gory, but the romance was soft and full of pining 🥰 When Sloane and Rowan got together, it was steamy as hell and it felt in line with their personalities. omg I can’t say enough about this book, and I can’t wait for the rest in the series!

Sweet and festive romance!

I enjoyed this book so much! The narrators did an excellent job. The story had a definite Christmas vibe and was very romantic. A perfect holiday read!

The story was fine, the male narrator was awful

This was my least favorite book in this series so far. It was just lacking romantic connection for me, and the sex scenes got to be redundant. But the worst part by far was the male narrator, Alex Kydd. I hope the author doesn’t use him for future audiobooks. The voice he used for female characters felt like he was mocking them, he interjected uncomfortable and forced laughter every other sentence, and he gave Monty some kind of weird hybrid of a Boston/New York accent that didn’t seem warranted based on the character. The female narrator did a fantastic job and really brought Miller’s character to life, but the male narrator was like listening to nails on a chalkboard.

Narrators negatively impacted the listening experience

I think I would’ve liked this book more if not for the narrators. The female narrator was a bit annoying, especially when she was reading/quoting male characters, but the male narrator was really distracting. His performance felt more suited to a thriller novel than a romance. It was very stiff. All in all, a decent story that was negatively impacted by the narrators’ performances.

5 star book, bad audio quality

I really loved this book, and I’m so glad it became available on audiobook, as that’s the main format I use to read books. But, the female narrator’s audio quality was really bad. Sentences were cut abruptly short, and she really needed some soundproofing, because, as others mentioned, you could easily hear things being shuffled around and birds chirping in the background throughout the majority of her narration. She was also a bit flat with her delivery. But, it didn’t stop me from enjoying the story being told, and that really says a lot!

More interesting than ACOTAR, imo

I really enjoyed this. I feel like this should get more attention, especially from the ACOTAR crowd. This book worked much better for me than that series did. I almost didn’t read this because the only time I see it mentioned on booktok is when people claim it depicts grooming. That’s a bit of a stretch in my opinion, and I’m glad I decided to read it despite those negative reviews. I’m going to move on to book 2 in the series right away, and I’m excited to see where the story goes!

I’ve been waiting for this audiobook!

I’ve been waiting and hoping for this series to be recorded for audio since I first read this book. The story is great, but the way that King’s dialogue is written is very distracting for me to read. That’s no longer a problem with this audiobook! I loved this listening experience so much. I’m jumping right in to Welcome to the Dark Side, since it’s my favorite. I’m so excited this series is finally available as audiobooks, and I can’t wait to listen to every single one! 🖤

Cute and fun YA romance

I really enjoyed this story! It’s a YA contemporary paranormal romance, and that’s definitely not my usual genre, but it was so cute and fun. I enjoyed every moment!
