Historia
In April of 1846, 21-year-old Sarah Graves, intent on a better future, set out west from Illinois with her new husband, her parents, and eight siblings. Seven months later, after joining a party of pioneers led by George Donner, they reached the Sierra Nevada Mountains as the first heavy snows of the season closed the pass ahead of them. In early December, starving and desperate, Sarah and 14 others set out for California on snowshoes and over the next 32 days endured almost unfathomable hardships and horrors.

Dry at first but worth it
Revisado: 06-23-23
The author goes on about his portion of the experience ahead of the story as he followed a women’s trek that was ultimately tethered to the Doner Party. He really digs into the details in the beginning with the intent of really putting you into the moment, but it’s a little forced/too much at times. However, it isn’t like this through the whole book, and he stops the story occasionally to give context and get you thinking about the scenario currently occurring in the story. I think that is great way to really bring you into the time and the struggles that were endured. It was great listening to on the road, and obviously, given the nature of the story, kept me alert/engaged enough while I was driving for a long distance. The woman’s experiences were especially horrible, the losses she endured unimaginable. It’s worth reading for some historical perspective.

Waste of a Credit
Revisado: 06-23-23
I get some people want to make money on the side as a stay at home mom but this was garbage. Do NOT waste your money or credits. Anyone wanting to get in-depth insights on such an important decision should really consider a difference source. It’s essentially a list of 50 thoughts on the topic that some one reads with a couple anecdotal quotes from people who might go to Starbucks with her smattered in to add content. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone making such an important decision.
