Mrs Pollifax comes to the rescue again!
Revisado: 04-15-18
I have listened to 6 books about Mrs Pollifax and have enjoyed all of them. Mrs Pollifax leads a double life in each book. She is a garden club member and fine upstanding citizen while in New Jersey. But while on vacation she works for the CIA. I plan to listen to all the books in the series.

Historia
When acclaimed Washington Post writer Wil Haygood had an early hunch that Obama would win the 2008 election, he thought he'd highlight the singular moment by exploring the life of someone who had come of age when segregation was so embedded in the culture as to make the very thought of a black president inconceivable. He struck gold when he tracked down Eugene Allen, a butler who had served eight presidents, from Harry Truman to Ronald Reagan. Forest Whitaker narrates the story of this remarkable man who, while serving tea and supervising buffets, was also a witness to history.

Don't buy it !

What would have made The Butler better?
I was really looking forward to getting an insight into the daily life at the White House. I would have liked it better if they had focused on behind scenes events of one president.
What do you think your next listen will be?
I loved Listening to Chasing Fireflies by Charles Martin. I look forward to hearing another book by him.
What three words best describe the narrators’s voice?
pleasant, easy to understand.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Butler?
The best scene in the book was when the writer was allowed to visit the basement in the butler's home.

Historia
Lucy Stone has always loved covering the annual Easter egg hunt for the Pennysaver. Hosted by elderly socialite Vivian Van Vorst at Pine Point, it's a swanky event where the eggs are as likely to contain savings bonds as they are jelly beans. But when Lucy arrives, a man dressed as the Easter Bunny emerges, only to drop dead moments later. Lucy discovers the victim is VV's grandson, and soon learns that not all is as it seems at idyllic Pine Point.

Historia
Southern belle BeBe Loudermilk has lost all her worldly possessions, thanks to a brief but disastrous relationship with the gorgeous Reddy, an "investment counselor" who turns out to be a con man. All that's left is a ramshackle 1950s motel on Tybee Island, an eccentric beach town that calls itself a drinking village with a fishing problem.

All of the characters were wonderful! I can't pick a favorite.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This was the funniest book that I have listened to in a long time. I immediatley purchased another audible book by Mary Kay Andrews.
