Historia
Each of three sisters—Elv, Claire, and Meg—has a fate she must meet alone: one on a country road, one in the streets of Paris, and one in the corridors of her own imagination. Inhabiting their world are a charismatic man who cannot tell the truth, a neighbor who is not who he appears to be, a clumsy boy in Paris who falls in love and stays there, a detective who finds his heart's desire, and a demon who will not let go. What does a mother do when one of her children goes astray? How does she save one daughter without sacrificing the others?

I didn’t care for this but stayed with it as it was for my book club. Too much of a downer for me.

Great narration! I was going to get more books by this narrator but it's the author! It is as though he's seating with you and just chatting. This book is informative. I'm going to listen to it again!

information on Plant based diet
Revisado: 09-22-17
Excellent information. Detailed and supportive for plant based diet.
However, the narration was horrid. If the book wasn't so good, I would have returned it. The narrator mispronounced nearly every medical term incorrectly. It was a struggle to listen to it. If there is another version with a different narrator, I would recommend it. Otherwise, be prepared to be informed but irritated.

No deep thought here. Repetitive. Common sense. There are much better brief summaries available but this was cheap.

Can't tolerate the narrator's whistling the 's'!
Revisado: 05-23-15
I purchased this book last year but returned it because of the narrator. However, I really wanted to learn more on this topic so I purchased again. I struggled through til the end. Good information but the monotonous voice and s sound whistles drove me as nuts as my Aspie does!

Historia
Mary Oliver has published fifteen volumes of poetry and five books of prose in the span of four decades, but she rarely performs her poetry in live readings. Now, with the arrival of At Blackwater Pond, Mary Oliver has given her audience what they've longed to hear: the poet's voice reading her own work.

I love Mary Oliver's poetry and thought it would be wonderful to hear her read her own work. Unfortunately, I found her narration quite dry and I could not complete this book.

This is too religious for me. I did not realize it would be so "biblical". I would like a refund. I listened to chapter 5, I think, giving it a chance. Mr. Chapman, the author, narrates this and has a nice voice.

Historia
In 1845 Henry David Thoreau, one of the principal New England Transcendentalists, left the town for the country. Beside the lake of Walden, he built himself a log cabin and returned to nature, to observe and reflect, while surviving on $8 a year. From this experience emerged one of the great classics of American literature, a deeply personal reaction against the commercialism and materialism that he saw as the main impulses of mid-19th century America.

Love the book Hated the perfomance
Revisado: 09-17-12
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Book yes. This reading no.
It sounded as though it was being read by Archie Bunker. I wish I could have a refund.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Walden?
Walden is a wonderful visual piece.
How could the performance have been better?
Having it narrated by Rupert Degas!
Was Walden worth the listening time?
Not this version narrated by Mr Hope!
Any additional comments?
There should be a means to obtain a refund or a credit when something is this awful!
