Historia
When a worker goes missing from a North Sea gas platform, there seem to be just two possible explanations - it was a tragic accident or a suicide. It does not take Smith and his detectives long, however, to discover that James Bell led a double life back onshore in Kings Lake, a life complicated enough to make him at least one dangerous enemy. Before the case can be unraveled, Smith must get a new team working together.

Historia
The new Kings Lake Central murder squad is about to spend its first morning on team-building exercises and reviewing cold cases when the call comes in that the body of one of the city's rough sleepers has been found in a shop doorway. It happens, someone says, he isn't the first to die on the streets and he won't be the last, but the story the new team begins to uncover is far from routine.

What a great novel! Chris Waters is an outstanding lead character. His boss Tara is well cast, as is Serena Butler. Great plot. I love the writing. He keeps you guessing right to the end and beyond.

I liked Melissa's first book. I didn't care for this one. I miss some of the characters from book #1.
The narration of this left me cold. I got so confused by all the female characters that I couldn't take it anymore.

In 1944, British bomber pilot Hugo Langley parachuted from his stricken plane into the verdant fields of German-occupied Tuscany. Nearly 30 years later, Hugo's estranged daughter, Joanna, has returned home to the English countryside to arrange her father's funeral. Among his personal effects is an unopened letter addressed to Sofia. In it is a startling revelation.

Just Wonderful!
Revisado: 04-26-19
Ann Tyler always manages to surprise and please the reader. Wilma's thoughts come to life. There are twists and turns to her life, but she sails through. I gave a review on Goodreads. I just wish Amazon could let us do one review, not three!
Ann Tyler is one of my favorite authors!

This is an inspiring story. I look up in the sky (in 2019) and marvel at what a new dimension Orville & Wilbur have added to our lives! True grit and determination, coupled with a boundless drive for success comes through in this well-written book. Kudos!

Historia
For Mrs Pargeter, it is a matter of principle that she should complete any of her late husband's unfinished business. Amongst his many bequests, perhaps the most valuable is his little black book, in which he listed all the people who ever worked for him, with details of their particular skill sets. This means that whenever Mrs P has a crime to solve, she can readily contact someone with the relevant expertise.
