Historia
Do you ever get a glimpse of yourself that is exactly who you want to be, but always seems just out of reach? The happier, kinder, less stressed, more courageous you? The ideal version of you isn't imaginary at all. It's actually the authentic you trying to break through. And it’s not a future version of yourself you have to chase. The true you may be new to you, but it’s not new to God. It's the you he knew all along.

Excellent material

My only (minor) gripe is that i wish all the appendixes had been included in the Audible version, instead of just the first 2. Other than that, one of the best books I have read this year. Definitely going to redouble my efforts to focus on developing my team’s strengths as a leader!

Historia
Why is it so hard to make lasting changes in our companies, in our communities, and in our own lives? The primary obstacle is a conflict that's built into our brains, say Chip and Dan Heath, authors of the critically acclaimed best seller Made to Stick. Psychologists have discovered that our minds are ruled by two different systems - the rational mind and the emotional mind - that compete for control. The rational mind wants a great beach body; the emotional mind wants that Oreo cookie.

Great content, Whispersync not so much
Revisado: 07-26-23
Dinged this one a few stars overall, and on performance, because it was one of few titles where Whispersync was totally busted up, and content wasnt in sync with Kindle. Had to listen via Audible app while following along on Kindle.
Other than that, content was great (this 5 stars for story).

Historia
Overthinking isn't a personality trait. It's the sneakiest form of fear. It steals time, creativity, and goals. It's the most expensive, least productive thing companies invest in without even knowing it. And it's an epidemic. When New York Times best-selling author Jon Acuff changed his life by transforming his overthinking, he wondered if other people might benefit from what he discovered. He commissioned a research study to ask 10,000 people if they struggle with overthinking too, and 99.5 percent said, "Yes!"

Historia
Your organization's culture is the key to its success. Strategic planning is essential. People's competencies should be measured and their weaknesses shored up. People crave feedback. These may sound like basic truths of our work lives today. But actually, they're lies. As Marcus Buckingham and Ashley Goodall show in this provocative, inspiring book, there are some big lies - distortions, faulty assumptions, wrong thinking - running through our organizational lives.

I always love it when authors take time to narrate their own books, with co-authors it was even better!

A follow up to the profound message of Crazy Love, Pastor Francis Chan offers a compelling invitation to understand, embrace, and follow the Holy Spirit's direction in our lives. "In the name of the Father, the Son, and ... the Holy Spirit." We pray in the name of all three, but how often do we live with an awareness of only the first two?

Historia
Have we been taught to discount the veracity and deeper meaning of our emotional resonance with the world around us? In The Abolition of Man, C.S. Lewis looks at the curriculum of the English "prep school" and begins to wonder if this subliminal teaching has indeed produced a generation who discount such a nature.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Abolition of Man & The Great Divorce to be better than the print version?
Yes
Who was your favorite character and why?
All of them, narrator captured the dialogue very well
What does Robert Whitfield bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
His accents and different voices for all of the characters is what really made this audio book from "good" to "great."
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I don't know about extreme; I did say I chuckled quite a bit as I followed along in the book, and listened to the narrator read it.
