Historia
An ordinary snapshot causes a mother’s world to unravel in an instant. After picking up her two young children from school, Grace Lawson looks through a newly developed set of photographs. She finds an odd one in the pack: A mysterious picture from perhaps twenty years ago, showing four strangers she can’t identify. But there is one face she recognizes—that of her husband, from before she knew him. When her husband sees the photo that night, he leaves their home and drives off without explanation.

Historia
This classic tale is a fantastical fable of two dear friends - one of whom goes astray and is literally lost to the north woods, while the other undertakes an epic journey to rescue him. This charming, strange, and wonderful story is a timeless allegory about growing up and the challenges of staying true to one's self, and it served as the wintry inspiration for the blockbuster hit Frozen.

Historia
On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge.

Wow- what a story!
Revisado: 02-20-15
Would you consider the audio edition of Gone Girl to be better than the print version?
I didn't read the print version, so I cannot comment.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Gone Girl?
Just the plot twists that just kept coming and coming.
What about Julia Whelan and Kirby Heyborne ’s performance did you like?
At first I didn't like the fact that there were two different readers, but as the story went on I changed my opinion 180 degrees. I can't imagine the story being told with just one voice.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
The only reaction I had was that it reminded me of "The Sixth Sense" in that I never saw it coming.
Any additional comments?
As everyone says, the book is much better than the movie!

Historia
From 1999 to 2009, U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history. The Pentagon has officially confirmed more than 150 of Kyles kills (the previous American record was 109), but it has declined to verify the astonishing total number for this book. Iraqi insurgents feared Kyle so much they named him al-Shaitan ("the devil") and placed a bounty on his head.

Sad story that brings to light war atrocities.
Revisado: 02-20-15
What made the experience of listening to American Sniper the most enjoyable?
I think knowing the story ahead of time kind of took away a lot, but then again, it was more intense than I expected.
What did you like best about this story?
Just hearing about war. I have a son in the US Army, and he has been to Iraq and Afghanistan- I can now relate to what he went through and still goes through to this day.
Which character – as performed by John Pruden – was your favorite?
Chris Kyle for sure- there weren't many characters in the book.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Historia
Four US Navy SEALS departed one clear night in early July 2005 for the mountainous Afghanistan-Pakistan border for a reconnaissance mission. Their task was to document the activity of an al Qaeda leader rumored to have a small army in a Taliban stronghold. Five days later, only one of those Navy SEALS made it out alive. This is the story of the only survivor of Operation Redwing, SEAL team leader Marcus Luttrell, and the extraordinary firefight that led to the largest loss of life in American Navy SEAL history.

Revisado: 02-03-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes I would, if the genre was in their wheelhouse.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Marcus Luttrell- he went through so much and survived.
What does Kevin Collins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I liked that his first person account included Luttrell's Texas accent.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Would you consider the audio edition of Free: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow to be better than the print version?

Historia
Amanda Knox spent four years in a foreign prison for a crime she did not commit. In the fall of 2007, the 20-year-old college coed left Seattle to study abroad in Italy, but her life was shattered when her roommate was murdered in their apartment. After a controversial trial, Amanda was convicted and imprisoned. But in 2011, an appeals court overturned the decision and vacated the murder charge. Free at last, she returned home to the U.S., where she has remained silent, until now.

Good to hear her side of the story.
Revisado: 01-17-15
What made the experience of listening to Waiting to Be Heard the most enjoyable?
Hearing the story directly from the woman who lived it was amazing. I have to admit that it started off slowly, but then I couldn't stop listening.
What did you like best about this story?
Finding out what really happened- at least from her perspective. I suppose we will never really know for sure.
Did Amanda Knox do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
No- she really didn't, but being that she is not a professional, I think she did alright.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Once I got past the slow start, it was definitely one I couldn't stop listening.
Any additional comments?
Looking forward to listening to the story from the perspective of her boyfriend.

Historia
Born to an unmarried woman who dies after giving birth, orphan Oliver Twist seems destined to slog through a dismal life in the workhouse. A rebellious cry for more gets Oliver banished, and ultimately lands him on the dismal streets of London. The young outcast finds refuge with Fagin and his band of thieves before fate intervenes and puts Oliver in the hands of a kindly benefactor. It is likely that Dickens's own early youth as a child labourer contributed to the story's development.

Classic Story very well written.
Revisado: 01-16-15
What did you love best about Oliver Twist?
The character himself- the trials and tribulations that he endured were unimaginable. My understanding is that Dickens based this story on his own childhood.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Oliver Twist for sure, for the reasons noted above.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
I think the narrator was limited a bit in the number of voices that he could do.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Not really
