Too many people delay, downsize, or shrug off their dreams just because they don’t know where to start, but playing it safe doesn’t account for the massive cost of a life not fully lived. Win the Day is the jump-start you need to go after your goals, one day at a time.

"Eat a Live Frog First Thing in the Morning"
Revisado: 02-24-25
If you don't like visualizing eating a live frog first thing in the morning this book is not for you. He literally quotes Mark Twain dozens of times when he said, "If you have to eat a live frog it is best to do it first thing in the morning and if you have to eat two eat the biggest one first." Also, he has zero real world experience or hasn't done any real research. He takes strange and obtuse stories of English royalty and characters from the old testament and tries to give you his interpretation of what the story tell was trying to teach you, no original stories of his own or real world advice. No one is getting up at 3 am to study the bible, get real.

Historia
Norah Vincent became an instant media sensation with the publication of Self-Made Man, her take on just how hard it is to be a man, even in a man’s world. Following in the tradition of John Howard Griffin (Black Like Me), Vincent spent a year and a half disguised as her male alter ego, Ned, exploring what men are like when women aren’t around. As Ned, she joined a bowling team, took a high-octane sales job, went on dates with women (and men), visited strip clubs, and even managed to infiltrate a monastery and a men’s therapy group.

Not 100% believable but close.

Other than living in the monastery, it was pretty obvious that this person didn’t live life like a man 100% of the time and I think that that would be completely different. She got to go home and be herself and be herself to her mate/girlfriend and get comfortable in her own skin again after wearing the disguise.

Historia
Founded by the mysterious genius known as the Designer, the archipelago of Prospera lies hidden from the horrors of a deteriorating outside world. In this island paradise, Prospera’s lucky citizens enjoy long, fulfilling lives until the monitors embedded in their forearms, meant to measure their physical health and psychological well-being, fall below 10 percent. Then they retire themselves, embarking on a ferry ride to the island known as the Nursery, where their failing bodies are renewed, their memories are wiped clean, and they are readied to restart life afresh.

Revisado: 08-16-24
Someone wrote this book that is not the same person that wrote Justin’s previous trilogy. This is nothing like the passage. No humor. No depth. No layers. It’s a constant guessing game. If you like the matrix with no rules this book is for you. No scientific reality based in this book at all. It reads as if a female author wrote it. It’s like Bridgerton meets The Matrix and has no sound conclusion.

Historia
“It happened fast. Thirty-two minutes for one world to die, another to be born". An epic and gripping tale of catastrophe and survival, The Passage is the story of Amy - abandoned by her mother at the age of six, pursued, and then imprisoned by the shadowy figures behind a government experiment of apocalyptic proportions. But Special Agent Brad Wolgast, the lawman sent to track her down, is disarmed by the curiously quiet girl and risks everything to save her. As the experiment goes nightmarishly wrong, Wolgast secures her escape - but he can’t stop society’s collapse.

Excellent story. No politics. Very straight forward. No fillers. Well written. The TV show is crap compared the this and should be redone. I’ve read this dozens of times and find something new each time. I get to know the characters better.

Historia
The wife is the “unexpected” abuser/reviler in a marriage. Biblically, the term “revile” speaks of the verbal aspect of mistreatment of others. It is a “non-contact” weapon in the arsenal of the bitter, controlling person. Both in society and in the Church, it is assumed that the husband is the one who reviles the wife, yet there is a growing trend where the opposite is the case. And this trend will continue to get worse as role confusion in marriage and relationships escalates in the modern world. Men in marriages where they are reviled feel alone, judged, and hopeless. Most ...

Revisado: 07-02-24
The artificial intelligence narrator left lots to be desired. However, this book did help me understand my frustrations when it comes to how we look at the Bible these days and made me want to reconsider how my relationship is going with Jesus Christ.

Historia
In the Borrowed World Series, America is brought to its knees by coordinated terror attacks against the infrastructure. After spending weeks walking across a violent and horrific landscape to reach his family, Jim Powell hoped they could weather this storm on their secluded Appalachian farm. They had prepared for this. They had armed for this. They could live without power and fuel. What happens, though, when the same qualities that drew Jim to his isolated valley begin to attract another armed group looking for a place to hide from the unrest of a starving nation?

>"Lily?" My stomach dropped as a tall, dark-haired man stepped into view. Had he been hiding between the trees? "No. Sorry." Gulping, I took a step back. "I'm not Lily." He shook his head, a satisfied grin on his face. "No. You are Lily." "I'm Summer. You have the wrong person." For months, Summer is trapped in a cellar with the man who took her - and three other girls: Rose, Poppy, and Violet. His perfect, pure flowers. His family. But flowers can't survive long cut off from the sun, and time is running out....

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Lone surviving book.
Revisado: 10-20-15
I'm always partial to a person or small group of persons trying to beat the odds to survive. This was a well written novel.
The only thing I didn't like was the predictable disasters that kept coming up. Just when the story was going fine you could almost see the next thing coming around the bend.
