Started out okay. Got less interesting as it went on. Would've liked to have heard something about Ellen's beloved cat getting rescued at least.

Historia
After just five months of dating Janie, Quinn - former Wendell and unapologetic autocrat - is ready to propose marriage. In fact he's more than ready. If it were up to Quinn, he would efficiently propose, marry, and beget Janie with child all in the same day - thereby avoiding the drama and angst that accompanies the four stages of prematrimony: engagement; meeting the parents; bachelor/bachelorette party; and overblown, superfluous wedding day traditions.

Awful
Revisado: 10-07-23
I loved the first book. This one is just annoying and tedious! I can't even get through the first few chapters. I keep expecting to magically get into it but I just can't take it anymore!

Perfectly believable story though.

These psychic attacks can cause neuroses, physical illness, bad luck - even accidents. Another ten percent of these psychic attacks are due to metaphysical sources, such as black magic, demonic spirits, poltergeists and energy vampires. I needed to read this.
Revisado: 07-16-23
The reading was subpar and the book was pretty depressing, but I've been a fan of Matthew Perry since long before Friends.
I'd seen him in a few shows and knew he'd be successful and famous one day.
Halfway through the book I started feeling sad as if I was listening to a tragic eulogy of a brilliant life cut short in its prime. But I had to keep going because I actually cared about what happened to him, as if he was one of my oldest friends.
God bless you, Matthew! You're kind of long winded, but then, so am I, so I can't hold it against you.

Not worth the time!
Revisado: 04-08-23
The first half dozen chapters were slow going, but I foolishly believed the rave reviews and kept listening. It got a little interesting as it went on, but I never felt empathy or warmth for any of the characters, even though the narrator did a great job. Yes, it was definitely full of unexpected twists, but like a bad relationship, I was left at the end, depressed, disgusted and wondering why I'd bothered staying with it and hoping for.... something satisfying.

Narrator is distracting
Revisado: 03-29-23
It's hard to believe the author is narrating. She sounds like she's never read the book before. Her pronunciations are inconsistent like she doesn't know exactly how to say the main character's name. Her "southern accent" is entirely unconvincing. If I had bought this book instead of hearing it for free, I'd be feeling ripped off.
The end is clearly left wide open for the reader/listener to continue with the next book, although I really didn't feel too compelled to go on. Perhaps if I'd read instead of listened to it, I might've enjoyed it a little more, but I still wouldn't give it more than three stars.
