Not what I was expecting
Revisado: 02-07-22
Overall I enjoyed this book and would recommend the token or buy. The story definitely took a bit of time to get into it but once it got rolling I didn’t want to stop. It’s definitely a different take on the same story as it’s not the hot young twenty something that’s got the MC hot and bothered but that hot older librarian, professor, work place professional etc. that is what is truly refreshing to me when it comes to this genre. There isn’t as much in game action (I’d personally would want more) but I can see how it could take away from the story being told.
Performance of both voice actors where great however there were a couple things I would nitpick. For Christian the MC came off as really whiny. Now, I know this comes back to the how he is written in the end but I just can’t help but roll my eyes when I hear you act out those parts. For Hazel I enjoyed your rolls but if the character didn’t have an accent it was really easy to think “oh that sounds just like this other character”. There was a bit of distinction but I personally don’t know that there was enough.

Howdy cowboy!
Revisado: 05-04-21
Well, I guess the wait begins for book three.
This is still a similar book to others in this genre however, if you read my last review I compared it to “wild Wastes” by Randi Darren. With book two this series has indeed moved away from having major comparisons to only having a few.
I didn't give this book a solid 5 in all categories due to Mr. Braddock seeming to get denser with the progression. Now I can understand having the protagonist be a bit thick, but I never thought Mr. Braddock to get this bad. Do not get me wrong; I am okay with his character development; I don't want him to get to the point where he is the trope anime protagonist in a harem-themed anime. He is only this way if he hasn't already slept with the female character.
The second reason is that I don't feel as though there was enough “action” in this one. There are a few parts, but I understand the world-building and possible setup for the future books.
Like I'm my previous review give all the stars you can to this title and help push out the next chapter and maybe just maybe Mr. Braddock will tip his hat your way!

Sam Elliott?
Revisado: 05-01-21
I went into this book a little skeptical, and I will admit the story is very similar to most other books. I would have given the story a 3.5 honestly, but after some deliberation, I gave it the 4th star. What can I say? I was raised on spaghetti westerns? If you're looking for a book that you can compare this to I would most definitely say the series “Wild Wastes” - by Randi Darren.
I definitely got a vibe of that series here but it is a spaghetti Western over a post apocalyptic era.
This book started of putting an instant smile on my face as the Adam Gold began. I instantly was able to imagine the great Sam Elliott reading this book. I wanted more and more and finished this book in under a day. Now, Adam doesn't quite sound like Sam Elliott but it is easy to add in his voice since Adam does such an amazing job here.
I read another comment before purchasing this book saying there needs to be a female narrator and see what they mean now. It's nothing against Adams’ ability to voice female characters as he killed those roles as well. But, it's more that I don't want to lose that sense of immersion and I think a female narrator would aid in keeping that feeling. It may just be me being a bit too picky but there's my two sense to what you will with it.
I liked this book so much that I immediately bought the second after finishing the first. Since I do listen to all my books at x1.3-1.4 speed I finish my books a lot faster and know I'm just going to be disappointed once I finish the second. So please help me not be sad by supporting this author and narrator and giving it all the stars you possibly can. You never know Braddock may just tip his hat to you in thanks!

Freaking finally
Revisado: 08-11-20
Finally!!!! The story continues but I did have issues on a few things. First being the new Narrator. Yes, yes I know I’m playing favorites here but I did listen to all the previous books with that narrator so it’s going to happen. It’s not like the new guy did a horrible job or anything and he did his best to make it sound similar to the previous narrations but there were some rough parts with long pauses that I got to me and really made the difference stand out.
Secondly, the story I love the fact I can continue where John, Rachel, and DOG left off but I wasn’t expecting things to go the way they did (I’ll leave it at that so there won’t be spoilers). Also, it felt like there was a bit more fluff being blown up my a** as filler.
Besides those issues which is only me being nit picky I’m on to the next book to just to be blueballed again lets shoot for 3 years this time. XD

Historia
When Theodore visited the new animatronic strip club in town, he didn't expect the elves the facility was famous for to be actual flesh-and-blood elves. And he definitely didn't expect to find an inter-dimensional phone booth tucked away in the back room. But find them he did, and before he knew it he'd been sent to a strange and exotic land. Among The Ten Thousand Worlds, power is free for any with the will and talent to take it. Here, elves practice immortal cultivation, gathering power to increase their personal strength and pursue eternal life.

A bit slow in some areas
Revisado: 07-31-20
I know you see that 3 I have for story. I have it solely because I’m not the biggest fan of a particular way to develop magic. If it were different there would definitely be four stars. The story was good do not get me wrong, if you are in the fence About the purchase I say screw it and dive in in. I am definitely going to continue in with the story because I want to know how things will end and I need some holes filled in to be completely satisfied.
TLDR: give it a shot. It’s an interesting take on elves and other fabled creatures.

Revisado: 07-29-20
This story in my opinion is a good start to a series. I wish there was more of uncle Sal. When he is apart of the of the story he definitely steals the spot light. The MC reminds me of Marty Mcfly and seems a little dull but, I can see the author making improvements with time. I would suggest this as a purchase to anyone that wants a twist to their back to the future.

Decent killer of time
Revisado: 12-29-19
This is a decent start to a series and a good way to kill time in between work and the wait for other books to come out. The story is pretty average and a lot like the other post apocalyptic style stories out there. One positive to this is that gun magazines are called just that and not “clips”, definitely my biggest pet peeve with stories like this. If you are looking for a shorter story I definitely recommend this series.

And now, he earns money (and pretty good money, at that) just for doing what he loves - playing a beautiful and realistic computer game. But he isn't some typical run-of-the-mill player, like the millions of others. Timothy is truly capable and talented, and stands out from the crowd. In fact, the faceless masses consider him far too lucky and successful.

There has to be a third (<_>)
Revisado: 10-21-17
So book 2 of this series didn’t let me down. It picked up at the end of the first book just fine. The pace of the story was good and developed well. The ending was something I wasn’t expecting whatsoever but I should have seen it coming. My favorite part of this story is when a certain female player gets her ass handed to her by the “NPCs”. Well let’s say that there are 2 parts with the 2 different female characters where I can say I enjoyed both times.
I do recommend this book to anyone that read and or listened to the first. You won’t be let down if you enjoyed the first book. If you just jump straight into the second without reading the first you most likely won’t get a full grasp of what’s going on. Now if you liked series like The land, The Trapped Mind Project Emerilia, etc then you will get a kick out of this series.

Not for me
Revisado: 10-21-17
I tried to like this book I listened to the first 2-3 hours but just couldn’t get into it. I don’t know what it exactly was because the story for the for the most part was right in my strike zone. I can’t really say it was the narrator because I’ve listen to other books where the narrator just wasn’t a fit whatsoever.
I wouldn’t discourage anyone from trying this book. For most people it seems this is a really good series for them. Basically if you like elves, dungeons, slave girls, etc. you should get a kick out of this.
There’s not much more I can really say about this book due to the fact I fell asleep, went back and still thought “ehh I’m done with this”.

In a world full of super powers, Felix has a pretty crappy one. He has the ability to modify any item he owns. To upgrade anything. Sounds great on paper. Almost like a video game. Except that the amount of power it takes to actually change, modify, or upgrade anything worthwhile is beyond his abilities. With that in mind, Felix settled into a normal life. A normal job. His entire world changes when the city he lives in is taken over by a super villain. Becoming a country of one city. A city state.

Freaking PANCAKES MAN!!!!
Revisado: 09-22-17
This book was beyond what I expected. I started this book in the morning and just could not stop listening and finished it later in the evening.
I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone that enjoys a good super hero universe story or just looking for something different.
Again, I absolutely just loved this book! I will say that there are parts where I couldn't help but laugh or grin (I'm sure walking around, randomly laughing doesn't look the best for me but who cares). William does a great job in getting you to enjoy all the different characters in the book, and possibly even picking favorites ones. The storyline did a great job in getting me to keep wanting more and actually get me to imagine the world Felix lives in. Now there is so much I want to say but spoilers never do anyone any good so I will just stop talking about the pros here.
The cons to this story are very short and I'm just nitpicking here. It became somewhat annoying every time the stats for characters were read. It just seemed like it went on and on then right after, on again! I get it there's not much to be done about it but it's just so long! The second and last thing has to do the Jeff the narrator. Nothing too big and it might just be the device I'm listening to this on but there are quite a few times where a very noticeable echo occurs. That's not too major but to some it may get annoying, I know it did irritate and distract me every once in a while.
