Historia
In her first work of nonfiction, the beloved star of Gilmore Girls and Parenthood recounts her experiences on Gilmore Girls - the first and second times - and shares stories about life, love, and working in Hollywood. This collection of essays is written in the intimate, hilarious, and down-to-earth voice that made her novel, Someday, Someday, Maybe, a New York Times best seller.

Made my heart happy
Revisado: 08-11-17
Would you consider the audio edition of Talking as Fast as I Can to be better than the print version?
I only listened, so I can't compare. I would have liked to have seen the pictures she referenced.
Have you listened to any of Lauren Graham’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes. This is non-fiction. I love her style as a narrator for both fiction and non-fiction
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Cry! I was a huge fan of Gilmore and it holds a special place in my heart. My mother and I had weekly dates to watch together, even when I lived 1500 miles away. It kept us close.

Historia
The People We Hate at the Wedding is the story of a less than perfect family. Donna, the clan’s mother, is now a widow living in the Chicago suburbs with a penchant for the occasional joint and more than one glass of wine with her best friend while watching House Hunters International. Alice is in her thirties, single, smart, beautiful, stuck in a dead-end job where she is mired in a rather predictable, though enjoyable, affair with her married boss. Her brother Paul lives in Philadelphia with his older, handsomer, tenured track professor boyfriend.

Couldn't Listen
Revisado: 08-11-17
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The female narrator is irritating. I couldn't listen past a few minutes. She seemed to want to be an actress but not understand how to portray what she was reading.
Would you recommend The People We Hate at the Wedding to your friends? Why or why not?
no-couldn't even listen to the whole thing
How could the performance have been better?
see above
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
possibly, I don't know what the story was because the voice was too irritating
