The performance is 1st class. The story is novel and interesting and well written touching on a lot of interesting concepts, and unique ideas having some unexpected twists. I will be seeking other titles from this author.

Adolescent SciFi is best that can be said

Oh gosh hard to know where to start. If you have little
Real life experience or just graduated from high school you MIGHT LOVE this book. Otherwise it is improbable trash

You feel you know him at the end

Not only is the story interesting and engaging but the narrator is every bit is good as he is on the screen and as the captain. The moment I saw this cover I knew I wanted this book. It’s excellent I recommended it’s a great story of a great actor and huge influencer popular culture.

Disappointed - more of a short story than a book

I’ve read short stories that were part of a collection that were longer so the cost of of this audiobook is ridiculous. I should have checked the length of the title. As far as the story goes I was left with the feeling that this robot/android was not only arrogant but ungrateful for being appreciated enough to be liberated from a pretty miserable existence. This leaves me uninterested in following its exploits.

Great! Including the narration. Sucky ungraceful Part 1 ending

Excellent, suspenseful, interesting narrative with great character development for central characters. I’ve no idea where those that have criticized the performance are coming from. The narrator was great. The story does end a bit abruptly with little to indicate the end of this volume is winding down. It just ends like a multiple episode TV series just as some huge issue is about to occur at the end of the last episode with a (to be continued) plastered across the screen. So definitely do not expect any sort of resolution to anything at the end.

Excellent reading great story great performance

Mystery and suspense are not not my favorite reading/listening genre. I normally like science fiction — the harder, the better. But I am an audible plus member and I’ve pretty much exhausted the entire science fiction library included with my subscription I care to listen to. So I’ve turned to suspense & mystery titles. I’ve found this protagonist, author, and performer to be very entertaining with great well thought out narratives and engaging performances. I found Thomas to be a bit cocky and crass at first but his wit and sarcasm grow on you. I recommend the entire series.

A surprisingly good series & a bargain with 4 audio books

I was so relieved to discover once I started listening that not only could I stomach what I expected to be disappointing wasn’t but was actually very good, engaging, entertaining, and funny.

The main protagonist’s humor might seem a bit harsh at first but once you begin to understand Thomas you discover he actually has a pretty good wit despite being a bit crude at times.

All 4 stories are excellent and the performances are top notch. I plan to check out other books in the series.

Story is convoluted & improbable

While the performances and production quality were great the narrative was confusing falling if it’s own weight and changing direction enough to the point I didn’t care what REALLY happened in the end. It just came across as a situation no group of people would ever take the time and effort to pull off.

Interesting and engaging narrative with good voice performance. Like that it did go into explaining the relevant genetic and biological underpinnings of the story.
