Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

One of my favorite books
Revisado: 06-19-07
This is a wonderful book and the narrator does a great job with the voices and accents. I noticed that in bookstores Gabaldons books are often filed under Romance, but they are so much more than that. Adventure, science fiction, historical fiction... Beware, this series is addictive!

Interesting supernatural thriller
Revisado: 04-16-07
This was a good listen, it kept me interested right up to the end. I liked the supernatural aspect of the story - that reminded me a bit of Frank Peretti's early novels (This Present Darkness) - but from an urban/African-American/female perspective.
I hope there will be a wider selection of Evie Rhodes' books available on Audible soon!

Kept me awake at work!
Revisado: 04-16-07
This was a highly enjoyable listen. It's a thrilling tale of vampires loose in a small Southern town and ordinary people banding together to fight against very long odds. The narration could have been a bit more interesting and the relationship between the two main characters - David and Nia - was a bit too perfect. I hope that Brandon Massey continues to gain a wider audience that includes people from all cultures, he deserves it.

Historia
In lower Manhattan, a charnel pit of horror is uncovered: the remains of 36 people murdered and gruesomely dismembered over 130 years ago by an unknown serial killer. Just as a museum archaeologist and an enigmatic FBI agent begin to unravel the clues to the killings, a fresh spree of copy-cat murders and surgical mutilation erupts around them. Mixing science and terror in a way only they can, Preston and Child deliver a novel that's as gruesome as it is enthralling.

Mystery with twists and turns aplenty. I liked Special Agent Pendergast very much and look forward to reading more books featuring him.

I'm a fan of Harry Potter who just discovered this series, and I'm glad to have something to fill the "void" until the final Potter book comes out.
Looking forward to continuing the saga with "Eldest."

Just as fun as I remember it from childhood. The narrator's animal noises are kind of annoying though.

I like all of Chevalier's novels, and this one was no exception. Her style of telling the story from different points of view keeps things moving without being too confusing.

This take on Dracula is very interesting and kept my attention to the very end. New details and background were constantly being discovered and the main characters are sympathetic if a tad underdeveloped.

Boring and Melodramatic

This book was a letdown after reading The Cabinet of Curiosities by the same author. The characters were flat and unrealistic. There was not much "mystery" to it either.

Visceral and gory tale
Revisado: 08-23-06
This book was a disappointment. I read some great reviews of it and perhaps my expectations were set too high. There was just a lot of blood and other bodily fluids and it wasn't very scary at all. The only reason I finished listening to it was to find out if anyone survived. If you really want to read this, I'd suggest checking it out at the library where it's free.
