1 Last Shot is the fourth book in the Fight Game Series, and one of my favorites so far. I loved the ballet dancer and MMA fighter combo in this romance. This book was a little more emotional than some of the others in this series, but I really appreciated that about this romance. Kane is broken and is very withdrawn and gruff. He doesn’t talk to anyone, but he opens up to Isabella as they form a friendship and eventually a romantic relationship. I also really liked Isabella and how she never gave up on Kane. She was always there to support him, but without letting him walk all over her. They had a great relationship dynamic.

I listed to this book on audio, and it was perfection. The narrators did a great job portraying these characters. I felt like I was in the story. I would highly recommend the audiobook.

I have loved this entire series by Laura Pavlov, but have been anxiously awaiting Cage’s book and it did not disappoint. I loved this grumpy single dad! Cage is very focused on his daughter, and not really looking for love. He is still hung up on Presley whether he wants to admit it or not. Presley is back in town to be with her family. I was swooning over how into each other these two are! Their connection is still so strong!

Gracie is the sweetest little girl, and her character added so much to the story. I was obsessed with her and her spilling Cage’s secrets without realizing what she was doing. Presley also develops a sweet relationship with Gracie and helps teach her how to ride a horse. It was so sweet to watch Cage’s girls get to know and love one another.

I definitely teared up towards the end of the book. This was such a sweet romance, and a great ending to the series. I’m so sad to be leaving Cottonwood Cove, but this book wrapped it up well. I am looking forward to what Laura has planned next!

I listened to this book on audio, and it definitely added to the reading experience. These narrators really brought the book to life and made the character feel real. I highly recommend checking out any of the books in this series on audio.

I really enjoyed this brother’s best friend, small town romantic suspense with a morally gray hero. I really loved these two characters and how much they loved each other. They’ve both loved each other since they were kids, but when they finally get together it’s perfect. Ryder is definitely a morally gray hero, but he wants out of the situation. It was heartbreaking but also so sweet to watch how he kept trying to put Dakota first, even if it meant staying away from her. He was so protective of her and her son Kayden.

I really enjoyed the romantic suspense aspect of this story. It fit well with who the characters are, and definitely had me hooked! I did guess quite a bit of it, but I loved it and couldn’t stop listening.

Noah and Fisher meet at a rodeo and have a one night stand. The next morning, she learns that he is her ex-boyfriend’s dad and that he is starting a new job on her family’s ranch. I loved the forbiddeness, and how much chemistry these two had.

Fisher has a lot of stuff from his past that plays a big part in the story. I loved the emotional depth that this book had, and hearing his story and how it made him who he is today. I also really liked how we got to see him mend his relationship with his son by telling his side of the story.

Noah is a horse trainer, and gets hurt at one point. The way Fisher took care of her was so freaking sweet. Even after she stopped letting him stay in her house, he slept in his truck outside to make sure she was okay. So sweet! The suspense in here was done really well, although I do wish it was woven throughout the story a little more than it was. There were events that happened, but the majority of the suspense was definitely held for the end.

Woke Up Married In Vegas Romance

The Proposal is the first book in a new series from Adriana Locke. This book follows Renn and Blakely. Renn is best friends and rugby teammates with Blakely’s brother. They are in Vegas with Blakely’s best friend Ella to celebrate her thirtieth birthday. She wakes up the next morning after a wild night, and learns that she is now married to Renn. They are both shocked by this, worried about the fallout and the press, but not too disappointed when they really think about it. They’re both into each other, and feel they could have made a worse choice for who to drunkenly marry.

It turns out that the best way to not cause a ton of drama is to stay married and pretend like they did it on purpose (along with some other conditions that Renn makes in his "proposal" to Blakely). So Blakely moves in with Renn and we get lots of pretective “my wife” moments that I am here for.

I really liked these two together, and how they learn that a decision they made on accident was the best decision they could have made. They act on their physical chemistry pretty quickly after being married. But watching them develop feelings and falling for each other and making sacrifices for each other was my favorite part. We also get to see Foxx as Blakely’s bodyguard, which made me really excited for Foxx’s book (in a different series) that is coming out soon.

My only complaint is that this is a rugby player, but there is very little sports content anywhere in the story.

Before the Sunset might be my favorite Laura Pavlov book yet! Childhood friends to lovers and fake dating are two of my favorite tropes, and this book was so well done. I loved the friendship these two had and how they meant so much to each other. I loved the way Laura showed us so many of their special memories growing up in a way that read so smoothly. They had always been there for each other, and they would continue to be there for each other in the present.

After it is mistakenly assumed that they are dating, they decide to go with it. Reese’s boyfriend of eleven years broke up with her, so she wants to make him jealous. Finn is an actor trying to avoid some drama, so being in a relationship with help that. Reese moves in with Finn during this, and of course lines start to blur. The way they have both wanted each other for so long (whether they have realized it or not) was so swoony. I loved the pining! Also I was seriously blushing and swooning throughout so much of this story. Finn is something else and I adored him!

I listed to this on audio, and it flew by even when I found myself wanting to make it last longer. The narrators did a fantastic job bringing these characters and their love story to life.

Love Me Today is the first book in a new series, and I loved it so much! I cannot wait for the next book in the series. This is a small town, single parent, nanny romance. Paisley gets into an accident at the beginning fo the book, and things end up with her arguing with the guy. She leaves the accident to get to her new job as a horse trainer. When she gets there she realizes the guy she got into the accident with is her new boss. He’s the guardian of his niece, and he has hired Paisley to teach his niece how to ride a horse. She eventually ends up becoming Evelyn’s nanny as well!

I loved this book! Caleb is super protective and caring and I loved getting to see this from such a brooding hero! Paisley’s relationship with Evelyn was so sweet. I loved getting to see Evelyn open up to Paisley and do so well with her lessons as well. She had been through a lot, so it was sweet to see her happy with a good relationship with Paisley. The chemistry between Paisley and Caleb was so stinking good, and I loved the romantic suspense elements. I listened to this book as an audiobook, and didn’t want to put my headphones away. I was so into it and couldn’t wait to see what would happen next.

Oh Banks! Not going to lie, I was nervous going into this book. I don’t always love a goofy hero, but Adriana Locke did such a great job with this book!

Banks are Sara are NOT friends. He is constantly avoiding her. I loved the interactions between them, and watching them finally come around to each other. Banks definitely had another side to him that I loved getting to see.

Glimmers of You is book three in the Lost and Found Series, and I was so excited to be back in Cedar Ridge with Caden and Grace. Caden is Grae’s brother’s best friend, and was always her friend as well. They almost had a thing in the past before there was something that happened that made Caden pull back.

Eleven years later, Caden is back in town working at his family’s resort. Things are tense between the two of them, but they end up fake dating when Grae pretends she dating the guy closest to her, and it happens to be Caden. She needed the guy asking her out to get the hint and leave her alone, and thankfully Caden goes along with it. Obviously things build between the two of them, especially when it seems like someone might be targeting Grae. She moves in with Caden so she isn’t alone.

I think I’ve read so many Catherine Cowles books that I know how to spot the villian, because I definitely called who it was going to be early on. However, that didn’t take away from the story for me at all. I love the way Catherine Cowles writes romances, love the way she writes suspense, and all of her audiobooks are fabulous as well. I’ve listened to most of Catherine’s books on audio, and this one was just as amazing as the rest of them. She knows how to pick fabulous narrators who tell the story so well.

Brinkley is a sports reporter who gets fired from her job after being called out by a football player
(Lincoln) in a press conference. She moves back home to Cottonwood Cove after this, and is going to be a freelance writer until she figures out her next move. Lincoln comes to town and accuses her of stalking him after he sees her. He does have a heart though, and feels bad when her finds out he got her fired. He ends up offering to let Brinkley shadow him and write a story on him which will also share the news of where he is signing for the next season.

He is very closed off at first, and only allows her three questions each day. Their banter is amazing, and he really starts to open up to her off the record. Brinkley starts to see more of Lincoln’s soft side and starts calling him a “rude gentleman.” Their romance was so swoony and I loved watching them fall for each other!
