Historia
Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared....

A deeply dark, and bright book.
Revisado: 11-26-20
Listening to this book brings out every emotion that a compassionate person has. I was disgusted by how war can be so cruel. And astonished at what a human being can survive through. How forgiveness towards the Japanese was ever found by these men literally blows my mind. I know that many never did. I would’ve be one of them I believe. A truly heart rendering story of a time I hope is never forgotten. A truly incredible story.

Historia
No one other than Warren Zanes, rocker and writer and friend, could author a book about Tom Petty that is as honest and evocative of Petty's music and the remarkable rock and roll history he and his band helped to write. Born in Gainesville, Florida, with more than a little hillbilly in his blood, Tom Petty was a Southern shit kicker, a kid without a whole lot of promise. Rock and roll made it otherwise.

This is true American history that should be read by every rock fan in the world. A truly exceptional book. Tom Petty has been relevant since the earliest days of true American rock music! I consider this an absolute MUST READ!!! R.I.P. Tom. Forever loved and missed.

Historia
Galadrielle Allman went to her first concert as an infant in diapers, held in her teenage mother’s arms. Playing was her father - Duane Allman, who would become one of the most influential and sought-after musicians of his time. Just a few short years into his remarkable career, he was killed in a motorcycle accident at the age of 24. His daughter was two years old. Galadrielle was raised in the shadow of his loss and his fame. It took her many years to accept that his life and his legacy were hers, and when she did, she began to ask for stories - from family, fellow musicians, friends - and they began to flow.

A very good listen.
Revisado: 10-10-20
Very well done story about Duane. A lot of deep insight to a brilliant young man taken from this earth way way too young. A lot of direct quotes from the people that he was closest to. I cannot possibly recommend this any higher. If you’re an Allman Brothers band fan and you have not listened to or read this book you simply HAVE TO!!! Extremely good book.

Just shows the different paths we choose. I’ve loved the Allman Brothers my entire life. This just shows that is regular people don’t always have it so bad. Excellent book! Probably my favorite on Audible so far. Now for Duanes book. Highly recommended!!

Historia
Rock god. Justice fighter. Rabble-rouser. Ivy Leaguer. An American renegade and fearless truth teller. Rage Against the Machine’s guitar virtuoso, Tom Morello, is many things; but perhaps, he himself, sums it up best: a one-man revolution. For the first time ever, hear Morello fuse the deeply personal with the political in a rapturous, badass, one-man show that skillfully balances soul-bearing stories with spellbinding guitar fury: Speaking Truth to Power Through Stories and Song by Tom Morello.

This is the same crap the blm terrorists are preaching. He talks a couple minutes about Chris Cornell. Everything else was just drivel. Sorry I wasted wasted a credit on it.

Best damn war story ever!
Revisado: 06-14-19
I think this should be read to every American child. So we can start to truly appreciate the great country we are so deeply blessed to live in. The horror these men went through defies imagination. To be so brave and heroic is harshly humbling. E.B. Sledge was a great man. And I am beyond thankful not only for his service but for sharing this incredibly mind boggling story. To live through hell on earth. God bless America. 🇺🇸
