Historia
The Joker is dead, but not forgotten. Gotham City is saved, but it is still not safe. By night, its new symbol of hope, Batman, continues his fight to protect the innocent and the powerless. By day, his alter ego, Bruce Wayne, wonders whether there may someday be a future beyond skulking the city’s rooftops or the cavernous halls of his stately manor alongside the ever-dutiful Alfred Pennyworth. But even after death, the Clown Prince of Crime’s imprint can be seen in more than just the pavement.

Skeptical at first, but it ended up being great.
Revisado: 02-19-25
I'm generally wary of movie tie-in novels for superhero properties, but this one surprised me with how great it is. It nails the tone of Tim Burton's Gotham City, building off of the what that film had set up.
What really surprised me was how it expands on the events of the first movie - if you've ever wanted to know how the Joker was able to take out the Batwing with a single bullet, this book has the answer. How was the Joker able to roll out Smylex so quickly? We got you, fam.
There's also some fun set up for Batman Returns! I found those details to be charming.
JJM seems to have taken his experiences working in expanded universes like Star Wars and applied that skill here. The story fits snuggly within the Batman 89 canon and left me wanting more.

Historia
Pokemon: The Origin of Species is a rational fanfic of the Pokémon games by Daystar Eld . It drew inspiration from other such fics, and the story attempts to craft the world of Pokémon in a way where everything has a scientific basis or is otherwise extensively researched. All rights belong to Game Freak. I am Jack Voraces, a professional audiobook narrator: https://www.audible.com/search?searchNarrator=Jack+Voraces I do not intend to make any money from this podcast. It is a free audiobook for anyone to listen to and it is my hope that it will eventually evolve into a dream I have had for a...

Fun story, entertaining narration
Revisado: 10-05-24
I like fan content like this - it was a creative little narrative with some entertaining headcanon. as for the narration, I liked it well enough. You can tell they really cared. Blue kinda sounds like the Canadians in South Park. I couldn't unhear it once I noticed. kept expecting him to say "Buddy" at the end of his lines. This isn't a complaint - just a funny observation.

The once-mighty house of Snow has fallen on hard times, its fate hanging on the slender chance that Coriolanus will be able to out charm, outwit, and outmaneuver his fellow students to mentor the winning tribute. Good story, iffy narrative.
Revisado: 04-10-23
Regardless of what is happening, there is no variation in tone or inflection in the narrator's character voices. It didn't bother me so much at first but it really got to me after a while. It is especially noticed when a character is singing, which happens more than you might think. The engaging story makes up for the narration's shortcomings, though.

Episodic and character driven
Revisado: 06-22-22
Interesting characters in an interesting world. There is a motivation driving the characters forward, but the narrative is built around discovering them and the galaxy they live in. It's about the journey, not the destination.

When The Sandman, also known as Lord Morpheus - the immortal king of dreams, stories and the imagination - is pulled from his realm and imprisoned on Earth by a nefarious cult, he languishes for decades before finally escaping. Once free, he must retrieve the three “tools” that will restore his power and help him to rebuild his dominion, which has deteriorated in his absence.

The perfect audio experience.
Revisado: 09-22-21
It's hard for me to call this an "audiobook". While it fits the description - each "episode" is an adaption of the corresponding issue of Neil Gaiman's comic - it feels like more than that. The cast is perfect, the score and sound effects add depth. It's an audio experience worthy of your time.
