He bashes all things religion and then does it repeatedly for almost 19 hours. It’s awful even for an atheist that can perhaps nod along in agreement. This book could have been a text message that reads “religions are based on crazy ideas and other people have crazy ideas too.” Don’t waste your time or money.

He’s full of BS

I don’t like him. I heard this book was good. He’s clearly embellishing and lying. It makes the other parts not great. I finally stopped listening when he told the story of the olive skinned beauty (his future wife) that he apparently sort of tricked or arranged into staying overnight at his house when she clearly said she wanted to go home. He’s a thespian that is full of him self. He’s performing here. Badly.

Writing this book apparently was an exercise in the “guru” author stroking his own ego. Admittedly though his wife wrote it? That’s what he says in the book. Chapters are peppered with quotes the author reads of his student praising him. The first five chapters are wind up talking about what he’s gonna talk about.

There are obvious nuggets in there that qualify as “smart pickleball” advice-obvious stuff YouTube videos all say. But it’s not worth the time suffering through the author stroking his own ego.

This book is based on so many false premises. For example, an atom does not appear, unless someone is looking at it. Therefore, we can change the physical world. Therefore, we can change our mind. Wut? And he goes downhill from there. It’s complete and utter hogwash.

It’s a talk that got recorded. This is sold as a book, not a lady’s free flow talking. A book is prepared edited. This isn’t worth nearly as much to me. A scam.

Interesting book with terrible narration.

The narration is just awful. The first 5-6 chapters are apparently read by someone given horse tranquilizers who is trying to emulate the cadence and style of a sixth grader unwillingly reading aloud in a classroom. I couldn’t wait to get this book and start it. With 5 hours left on this 20 hour torture session I have stabbed out my eyes with a fork and hence rely on this awful performance to consume this interesting book lest I waste one Audible credit. The narrator switched for a couple chapters and was poorly dubbed but provided relief. But then it switches back to the author apparently. Her presentation is the audible version of a professional’s poker face meant to convey no emotion, emphasis, nor anything that may lie beneath the surface. It is genuinely painful to listen to. The worst narration ever. Ever in the history of mankind. Love the topic though.

I really enjoyed this. Any person that watched 60 minutes back when should enjoy this story. I really enjoyed the insight. The book and performance are top shelf. Thanks.
