Cute, Cheesey Love Story

After reading two gut-wrenchingly sad books (one a memoir) back-to-back, I wanted a light, breezy, low-stakes plot book to give myself a break. This book is exactly what I was looking for. I tried reading a different book first, and it was truly cringe-worthy, but I felt this book was funny and witty and romantic without being too cringey. I personally enjoyed the switch back and forth between narrators. The first chapter was a little rough– I almost returned the book because of the narrator's yelling– but I'm glad I didn't because it got a lot better after the first chapter. The group of girl friends made me smile a lot, and their interactions sometimes reminded me of the Girls Gotta Eat podcast.

Beautiful and moving

This has become one of my favorite books. It is raw and impactful. The descriptions of life, emotion, food, landscape are incredible. I was on the fence about whether or not I should read it and am so glad I did. I'm grateful to Tembi for sharing this with the world.
