Historia
The Fearless Organization offers practical guidance for teams and organizations who are serious about success in the modern economy. With so much riding on innovation, creativity, and spark, it is essential to attract and retain quality talent, but what good does this talent do if no one is able to speak their mind? The traditional culture of "fitting in" and "going along" spells doom in the knowledge economy. Success requires a continuous influx of new ideas, new challenges, and critical thought, and the interpersonal climate must not suppress, silence, ridicule, or intimidate.

Revisado: 08-07-24
The core principles of this book are solid and compact, making up only about 25% of the book. In true scientific style, Edmondson puts all of her data and evidence before her conclusions, which make up more than 50% of the material. Highly recommend getting a copy of the book and look for ways to incorporate psychological safety into your organization's practices and work culture!

Great core concept, but too repetitive
Revisado: 11-27-23
I really enjoyed the explanation of the Golden Circle, but halfway through the book I had to make sure I hadn't accidentally restarted it. Sinek goes over examples multiple times in the book, often with the same details. If you have the time, it's worth a listen for the history. If not, watch his TED Talk.

Not a whole lot of surprises here, but it felt great getting back into the Dune Universe. Scott Brick is a good narrator although his character voices are often difficult to distinguish.

The most boring story about a serial killer...
Revisado: 05-24-19
Bland and unoriginal. Acting is decent at best. About a quarter of the recording is intro/outro music and someone reading children's rhymes. The rhymes themselves are meant to feel scary, but instead feel flat and forced. Characters are unlikeable and unrelatable.

Historia
Sixteenth-century Spanish gentleman Don Quixote, fed by his own delusional fantasies, takes to the road in search of chivalrous adventures. But his quest leads to more trouble than triumph. At once humorous, romantic, and sad, Don Quixote is a literary landmark. This fresh edition, by award-winning translator Edith Grossman, brings the tale to life as never before.

Doesn't stand the test of time...
Revisado: 05-05-19
While it can be appreciated for its literary significance, Don Quixote is a slow read that relies on coincidence to propel its plot. At times the writer just has Don Quixote as a footnote while he details the stories other love stricken youths and at one point introduces a short story that has nothing to do with the plot at that time. The narrator is good for the roles of the two leads, but after that all the men, women, and boys/girls sound the same.

Not Dan Simmon's best, but not bad
Revisado: 04-01-19
The book felt like life in the real Navy: long periods of boredom with brief periods of excitement. Overall well done, though I don't feel I got into it until about 7-8 hours in. The reader is good at creating dread and tension, but sometimes spoke so silently I could barely hear.

Historia
Ten years after the collapse, Huxley has built a good life again. He has a loving wife, a farm with fields of golden barley, and a daughter with a strange and wonderful gift. Then the slavers come. Working out in the fields during the attack, Huxley returns too late. His daughter has been taken, and his wife is bleeding out, her last whispered words about a man with a scorpion tattoo on his neck. Where do the slavers go? Huxley has no idea. He knows only that they head east, and so will he, setting out on foot across the desert of the Wastelands.

Gritty and Amazing
Revisado: 11-18-18
Very gritty post-apocalyptic story that had me gripped the whole time. The world felt very similar to the Fallout games, without the radiation and super mutants, which for me was a big plus. Christian Rummel may not have been the greatest reader of all time, but his deep, gruff voice fits the scenery perfectly and he expertly breathes fear and pain into the characters.
