More and more ridiculous!

This storyline is getting so outlandish that I don’t know what is going on more of the time. It seems like the author is just making things up on the fly. I understand that there are certain liberties that authors can take in books within the fantasy genre, but this series is really pushing the envelope.

Getting Ridiculous

At this point it’s curiosity that keeps me listening to this series. I want to know if Lyndon finally stops bowing and scraping to everyone. However, it seems like that will never happen. I’ve come this far in the series and I still don’t like or care about ANY of the characters. And the fights? Utterly ridiculous.

Too much “singing”!!!

Hammiche’s character deserved a better story than this. The storyline felt rushed, with a ton of songs and poems to make up for the fact that there was no real substance. Also, if you give one of your characters a name as silly as Lenora Dove, it’s not a good idea to use it in every sentence. It sounds too ridiculous. Perhaps a better narrator could have made the story more enjoyable, but not by much. Overall, I’m very disappointed.

Usually these short Audible Original programs are not that great, but I really enjoyed this one. The cast did an excellent job with the narration.

Loved it!

I like that the book focused more on Jake, with just a brief mention of the other members of the Nevermore group, I also liked the interactions between the gods. Would have liked to hear a bit more from Miranda, though. Overall, I loved the storyline, and cannot wait for Book 12.

Disappointing

The storyline was pretty weak. It felt rushed and not very well thought out. I waited so long for this book, only to be totally disappointed. There were so many questions that were left unanswered. I’m assuming that, based on the ending, there will be another book in the future. Hopefully, it will be more like the previous books. Also, please go back to having Travis Baldree narrate for all of the characters.

Storyline is a bit nonsensical

One of the reasons why I dislike cultivation-type books is because they can be a bit hit or miss. Some authors are able to make fantasy sound exciting, while others just seem….ridiculous. This book is more ridiculous than exciting. And the constant bowing and scraping of the MC is getting OLD! By the time he reaches his desired level of power, he won’t have any dignity left. Not sure if I will continue with the series.

Just Awful

How is this cheesy trash rated so high?!? Never mind the barely veiled racist comments (low quality Chinese goods), but the misogyny is just unreal! “Most women want a man to lead them, but not one that is controlling.” Seriously?!? I actually had to rewind and listen to that part again just to make sure I wasn’t hearing things. I purchased the first four books all at once using cash instead of credits, so I couldn’t request a refund once I was half way through the first book. The only reason I purchased it in the first place was because of the narrator and the ratings. However, not even Travis Baldree can salvage these books. Needless to say, I won’t be continuing the series. All I can say is thank God it’s over!

Ridiculous Even for LitRPG

I’m on book three of this series, and they just get more and more ridiculous! The author must have been a nerd who wasn’t popular in high school. It reads like it was written by a child. The corny pop culture references, the sibling angst, and the way all the characters are constantly praising this inexperienced “kid” is just cringe. Note to self. Never buy an entire series at once using cash, no matter how cheap it is. Books purchased with cash cannot be returned. At least if I had used a credit to buy book one, I could have immediately returned it for a refund. Now I’m rolling my eyes through each book in an effort to get my money’s worth. This book was four dollars for a reason.
