Good story with several twists

I really enjoyed the story but the male narrator wasn’t good. I really like this author.

Why we think it’s a great listen: There’s no gentle way to put this – Frank McCourt’s performance of Angela’s Ashes is just better than the Pulitzer Prize-winning book. Frank McCourt shares his sometimes heartwarming, sometimes heartbreaking story of growing up poor, Irish, and Catholic in the Pulitzer Prize-winning memoir Angela's Ashes.

Made me laugh, made me cry but ended abruptly
Revisado: 08-27-12
Frank McCourt definitely made listening to this book more enjoyable. He made every character come alive. He made me laugh and made me cry. I enjoyed the book very much I just did not see the end coming at all and then it was over. Left me a little speechless and feeling a wee bit cheated. I would definitely recommend this book though. Just expect it to end at any time. :)

Historia
It was a crime so brutal, it changed the lives of even the most hardened homicide cops. The Haas family murders left a scar on the community nothing can erase, but everyone agrees that convicting the killer, Karl Dahl, is a start. Only Judge Carey Moore seems to be standing in the way. Her ruling that Dahl's prior criminal record is inadmissible raises a public outcry, and puts the judge in grave danger.

Very good story with several twists
Revisado: 08-13-12
What did you love best about Prior Bad Acts?
The twists in the plot
Who was your favorite character and why?
Sam Kovac - just seemed like a guy who had a lot to give if he could just meet the right person and was willing to go the distance to do the right thing.
What does Holter Graham bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Not sure. He did have a pleasant voice and did well with the different characterization.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I had a range of emotions but didn't laugh or cry.
Any additional comments?
Thi book has made me want to explore more of Tami Hoag's books.

A waste of a credit, definitely!
Revisado: 08-12-12
What did you like best about The Pain Nurse? What did you like least?
Best, that it was not a lengthy book
Least - beginning to end
What could Jon Talton have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Named it something that wasn't misleading. The story had nothing to do with Nursing.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Lloyd James and Marguerite Gavin ?
No idea.
Was The Pain Nurse worth the listening time?
No, it was not.
Any additional comments?
Definitely not worth the credit or the time. I am a Nurse and thought the title sounded interesting. The title had nothing to do with the story at all.

Still can't decide how I feel about this book
Revisado: 08-12-12
Would you listen to I Know This Much Is True again? Why?
No. I don't listen to books more than once.
What other book might you compare I Know This Much Is True to and why?
I have no idea.
What three words best describe Ken Howard’s voice?
Engaging, orotuned and husky
If you could rename I Know This Much Is True, what would you call it?
Schizophrenia: A Twin's Lifelong Struggle
Any additional comments?
I definitely didn't hate this book but can't decide whether to recommend it or not.

Ok book - not for the easily offended for sure!
Revisado: 07-31-12
What did you like best about The Serial Killer Whisperer? What did you like least?
The actual story playing out from the accident to the first serial killer contact. You really get to know the main character in this book
Least - the shocking foul language and the disgusting descriptive sexual abuse/murders
Would you be willing to try another book from Pete Earley? Why or why not?
Yes. I don't judge all books from reading just one.
What about Alan Sklar’s performance did you like?
Enjoyed it. He is definitely engaging.
Do you think The Serial Killer Whisperer needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Might be interesting to read the follow up to each story.
Any additional comments?
The foul and disgusting language in this book was shocking. I'm not a prude by any means however it even made me uncomfortable to hear some of it.

Much of Richard Matheson's work has found its way into pop culture: The title story became a memorable episode of television's The Twilight Zone, and more recently, Will Smith starred in the blockbuster movie I Am Legend. Stephen King has declared Matheson to be one of his favorite writers. Find out why as you listen to the classic horror story of a man who peers out of his airplane window to see a gremlin destroying the wing.

Worst I've ever heard
Revisado: 07-12-11
I wish I would have read further down on the reviews. The first several are very positive reviews. If I would have read further, I would see that this would be a waste of a credit/money/etc. I'm shocked that Stephen King who is one of my favorite authors would give this collection any kudos at all. Don't waste your money. I've not heard one horror story/scary story and most don't even make sense. Sigh......... have only made it through 6 stories so far. May not be able to continue.
